Question about Goodmans W280NS Television
Hi I have a goodmans GTVL27W23HD LCD TV. Came in and the TV was dead. No hint of power. It tripped the fuses. Everything came back on but no TV. Any Ideas?
Dry joints ???
Fuse blowing on these is due to a transistor going open circuit, blows/trips main fuse in plug/fuseboard and pcb psu component.
Part number HA160T1A1 is no longer avaliable to replace the board after only 14 months service the lesson is you get what you pay for, go for more reputable manufactuer :(
Bad company with cheap and nasty products.

This cost me 90 quid to get fixed. I said to the guy "just dry joints etc. then" to which he replied "yes"

Sounds like the power surge may have blown the fuse in the TV. You can replace the fuse and see if that works. If not, more damage to the power supply unit may have occurred.
