Question about Panasonic Technics SL-DZ1200 Turntable

1 Answer

No Amplification I have a used turntable that was a gift. It is a Panasonic Technics model SL-23. I am trying to plug it into my stereo via the red and white output cables. But no sound comes out of the system. This has worked with another turntable in the past, so i think the problem is with the current turntable. Is it just that it is old? it spent many years in an attic. I have replaced the belt and the platter spins fine.

I have a Technics turntable Model: SL-BD22-KM, Ser.#: GF3Fc73813. The RCA and ground connection panel on the turntable has been jurked-out tearing the wires apart. I need to know which wires are soldered...

hi,
Here is the wiring of the turntable RCA plug ( RCA wire will have 4 connections like red and its outer wire then White and its outer wire.). connect these as follows.

For right channel

Red wire from the turntable to the red center wire of the RCA plug

Green wire from the turntable to the outer wire with red wire of the RCA plug

For left channel

White wire from the turntable to the white center wire of the RCA plug

Blue wire from the turntable to the outer wire with White wire of the RCA plug
OK

How do i connect technics turntable model SL-QD33 to technics stereo model SC-DV290 and what do i need to switch to on stereo to play records.

Have a look on the back input panel of the sc-dv290. Check for a "PHONO" input. If there is no phono input it will not play turntable. If there is: then plug it the turntable in and switch the SC-DV290 to PHONO mode.
Another way would be to purchase a "phono preamplifier" from ebay: Hook the turntable into the phono preamplifier, and the preamplifer into the SC-DV290 AUX input.

How do I change belt on a Technics linear SL -H350 turntable

http://www.archive.org/details/Turntable_Belt_Installation

above video should help. if your platter is "stuck" then call them for tips. also make sure it does NOT say "direct drive" on the front of the unit.

presuming you are talking about the SL-H350 as in the body not the SL-DZ1200 as in the title

Low volume and unbalanced deck

Turntables require amplification, they have very low output on their own. If your Sherwood has an Aux input try using that, older receivers often had a built-in pre-amp on the aux jack. You can obtain a stand alone pre-amp for less than $50, I use one from mcm, #40-630.

Panasonic automatic turntable model sl-hm42

I'm having a similar issue - except my panasonic sl-hm42 platter is moving too slow on 33 1/3 settings (don't have any 45's to try). It's a DC model, so I would think there would be some kind of pitch control settings or screws somewhere on it but I can't seem to find them.
Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the pitch on this model turntable? Thank you!
