Question about HP Pavilion ze2000 Notebook

A dark large stripe on the screen which won't go away

A vertical dark stripe, which takes up exactly one fifth of the screen (it is the second fifth from the left). It is not completely dark, but just darker than the rest of the screen. 1. Can it be fixed? 2. If it is not fixed - is this a sign that the screen is about to completely be out of oreder soon? Thanks a lot, Moti

Re: A dark large stripe on the screen which won't go away

It is definitely a screen related issue. There are 5 drivers each running a section of the screen. Obviously one is out, but that doesn't mean the others are on the way. You may be able to find a replacement screen if you'd like to attempt the replacement yourself. Otherwise you always have the option of using a service center.

Vertical stripes on screen

Plug the PC into an external monitor.  If it works, you have a bad display in the laptop.  If it doesn't, the problem is likely your video card.

Acer 5670 screen has dark transparent vertical stripe

you will need to check the display cable and if that is ok, you will need to replace the display panel... You're getting a short on the circuit board causing rows of pixels to be blocked out

Here's your display on ebay...

Lcd stripes

normally with vertical stripes it can happen due to
1.a bad LCD (small little chip inside LCD and can't manual repair)
2.a loose connection cable
so here what I do is first I try to tab at then back of the LCD and see that the problem goes away or not.If yes then a loose connection.
if no what I would do here ,coz I have a spare LCD I just exchange to test it...if the problem goes away then a BAD LCD.
Incase of verticle line due to bad LCD you can't repair it trust me.All the small IC chips are blended with board and can't really be repair.More quesiton feel free to post here.
