Question about Canon Elura 100 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
When I plug my Canon Elura 100 camcorder in to the AC adapter, the screen comes on showing a blue "Canon" logo, and I hear the little "ping" sound that it makes when it powers up. However, this happens even if the power switch is turned to "off", and turning the switch to "camera" or "play" does nothing--the screen still shows the "Canon" logo. The only way to turn the unit off is to unplug it from the AC adapter and wait for the battery to run out.
I am able to load and eject tapes, but I can't record or play back on tapes or SD cards since the screen never shows anything but the "Canon" logo.
This camcorder should have a removeable battery you can take out.
Remove the battery and the ac adapter, wait 5 minutes and plugin the battery again, if you have the same problem and the camcorder is still stuck on the canon screen, the internal software is most likely corrupt or you have a hardware fault.
All I can suggest is to send it to canon repairs

Tips for a great answer:
This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be serviced by a qualified service technician.
