I just bought 3 CDs and none of them will read. Once I select a different source, ie tuner, audio output will begin again.

Same problem for me..... radio plays fine but cd and ipod = no sound

  • capt42 May 11, 2010

Point of clarification .. do you mean that NO sound comes from the unit from any source (i.e., radio, mp3/usb input). The problems I have noticed are:

    1. Fuse - depending on your wiring.

    2. The input CD is actually a DVD and burned as a DVD.

SOURCE: Error 6 on in car stereo

Here is the link to the user manual for your player if you need it; http://www.clarion.com/gb/en/MungoBlobs/483/874/DXZ838RMP-EU.pdf Page 38 of the manual (page 42 of the pdf file) describes the error codes error 6 states "a disk is loaded upside down inside the cd deck and doesnt play properly" Suggested solution is to try the disc the other way up, if this doesn't help then there is most likely a problem with the lens - possibly cured by cleaning, please ask again if you want to try this yourself and we can talk you through it Hope this helps :)

Bloody snap! I also have a 406. The button on the head unit is supossed to turn on player. My original unit wore out.I got a second hand unit which is also not recognized by the head unit. At the moment I dont know why,but Im not a man to give up easily and will give you the solution when I have it. I know it was working originally and it looks like the secondhand unit is faulty. thomaashamioton@email.com

SOURCE: Clarion DXZ785USB - Connecting Fused Lines

You will definitely need to connect the Yellow Wire Memory Back-Up Lead, since this is the connection from the radio to the battery that stores the time and your presets. If it is not hooked up, you can use the radio, but all your settings will return to default once you turn off the car. The Yellow Wire Bus Power Lead sounds like it would be for powering an auxiliary unit like a Sat Radio or HD Radio add-on. You will not need to connect this unless you have an add-on such as one of these.

Hi,
Try to exchange one speaker connections only, unplug connector from speaker and put them + to - and - to + pins.
In my opinion, both speakers are giving out of phase sound that cancels the bass sound, speaker connections should be same phase to get bass sound so just change connecting two wires at any one speaker, that will work.
Thanks.

C.d player doesnot play

Hi.

Not all in-car stereo are compatible with computer recorded CD.

Try setting Roxio to "Close Disk" and "Close Session" or "Disk at Once" (try all) while recording the CD on PC.

If that does not work, then the stereo is not compatible with recorded CDs.

Regards.

Unit will not eject CD will play fine but won't eject

Once it gets too hot in your car, a stereo or the cd in it can warp.If you press the eject button and the music keeps playing the unit has an electrical problem you can't fix. If you press eject and the disc sounds, or looks like it wants to come out, you might have a warped disc. As a last resort, pull out the stereo and leave it connected. Then try to eject it. If it ejects, then the stereo could be binding.

Is this considered clipping in marine boat stereo help!!!!

if your radio is puiing more power your ground might not be good enough, use the same spot but remove the ground and rough it up a little on the base with some sand paper or add a metal o ring to get a better ground.
