You could of had a power surge and damaged the power supply, Insignia offers 2 year warranty on there products call them up and ask them if they would warranty their product , DO NOT SAY IT WAS A POWER SURGE. 1-877-467-4289 thanks. - JC
Open the DVD player. Clean the pick up lens with ethyl alcohol/nail paint remover by using cotton swab. Tip: Use your DVD player at least once in week.
This may have to do with the settings on your DVD player or cable/satellite box. Change the settings on those devices to output the desired resolution (720p) and adjust your TV settings appropriately. More details about the TV settings can be found in the owner's manual.
