When you install the power supply, it should already be connected to the power switch. You should be able to connect the new power supply to the on/off switch where the old one was connected. If this is a new case then the instruction manual should show you where to connect the power supply. Most motherboards have a keyed connection that connects to everything else. Its usually color coded too. Make sure the colors match up. If you can't figure it out, let me know more detail about the case and the type of power supply. It looks like some of your description got cut off.

If you have an ATX mother board , you need an ATX power supply. Just buy the correct power supply for your case.

Oh ok,
I didn't know if this was a new board your building from scratch or a power supply replacement on an old board. I should have asked that first to know what I was dealing with. Are you hooking up an ATX power supply to your motherboard. Your motherboard is an ATX motherboard.

Instructions on atx case wiring to motherboard

Assuming that the computer is laying down on it's right side, and you are viewing the F panel (the front panel header) from the right side of the motherboard (the bottom of the computer), pin 1 is on the bottom left of the F panel, pin 2 is on the top left, pin 9 is on the lower right, and pin 10 is on the top right (no actual pin)...

Usually the wires and the pins are color coded, (the colored ones being positive.) Sometimes the connections are written in very small abbreviations on the motherboard.

Motherboard P4M800CE-8237 Pin connection

Hi ohfs55, case's vary & so do the wire colors. The most common wire color for positive are colored wires. Blue, Green, & red. The most common color for negative is White & or black. I wasn't able to find your manual. If you have the manual for the motherboard there will be a page that will show where the positive & negative wire's connect for each jumper to the motherboard.
Without the manual I can not guide you through each connection. PW = power switch, RW =Reset switch, HD_LED = Hard drive LED ECT.
