Question about TV Accessories
I just got the Ion EZ Vinyl Converter for Christmas. I use their recommended software and it creates a file in iTunes. However, when I try to play the file, it makes no sound even though iTunes shows the file playing. I checked the "Gain" setting on the back and saw it was at the minimum, so I set it about midway. However, the recording I made after that adjustment still disn't work.
-Sounds - click on Speech and Audio Devices -
Click onSounds and Audio Devices. or if your in classic view -double click.
Click on Audio tab
Make sure that thedefault devicefor Sound Playback is set to the device hooked up to the speakers
i.e. set it to something other than the USB AUDIO CODEC which is the turntable

During recording I get noise. The noise doesn't go away until I close the E Z Converter.

Storminorman is right . ION added a fix to new shipments of turntables advising to reset to default sound device after installing the turntable which changes the sound device to USB Audio codec. ITunes needs the original sound device to play what you recorded.
On another note You may need to download an upgrade to EZ Vinyl Converter 4.1 if you have trouble exporting to ITUNES. It works but not completely, only some tracks export and others duplicate. This is a real crappy product. Check out LPRIPPER.COM it's expensive but gets good reviews.
