Check in device manager to see if its enabled and have drivers installed.some wifi are installed without a wireless manager and connect to first available(strongest)network.
go into control panel ,administrative tools, sevices and scroll down to wireless zero config and start.
then when you click on wireless icon you will have choices of connections(AP'S)(access points)

Is HP G61 a wifi hotspot?

You cannot setup your laptop as a WiFi hotspot, but if you have a wireless router and it is connected to a DSL or cable modem you can allow all your wireless connected devices to connect to the wireless router so they can communicate between each other and connect to the Internet.

Can not connect because password is to long

There are two ways to connect using wifi. One way is to let the sofware that came with the adapter (in your case Centurylink) or you can let windows manage the wireless (Called Windows Zero Config). Open your Century Link software and look around through it at all the tabs and if you see something like Let this too manage the wireless connection, uncheck it. If you see something like Let Windows Zero Config manage the wireless connection check it.

Windows will allow for a long password.

My computer wont puck up any wireless connections it doesnt even show the adapter anymore i don't know what happened can anyone help??

Could be an error with the wireless assistant or maybe a corrupt wifi driver. The following link is for the HP wireless assistant, try downloading and installing it:
http://driverscollection.com/?file_cid=41965100331997a97689ea2d723

This is the link for HP support where you can try downloading a new wifi driver. You will need to know what wifi adapter is installed to get the correct driver:

Wireless netcar says it found a WiFi network-click here to se them but then ther is/are no networks there. Other computers find the same network and can connect to it.

HP has thier own driver and software to manage wireless connections.
Check to see if there is a program that is installed to set up a wireless connection.
If you have XP on the computer, it cannot show available wireless connections when
there is another program managing the connection.
You can either use HP's program, or uninstall it then XP will show available networks
and be able to manage and set them up for you.

I don't see any WiFi connections in my computer (Windows 7) and WiFi indicator infront of laptop does not lit. Troubleshoot shows "Wireless capability is turned off". The switch in front of PC is turned on...

First, turn the wireless switch OFF and switch it back ON
(make sure sure that there is a BLUE light on the wireless indicator)
then press Fn+F5 (this will ENABLE the wireless capability of your computer)
>Try to detect wireless networks

Greetings, trying to figure out why my toshiba 5205-S504 cannot access local wifi. Some sort of internal wifi device installed and was working until I reverted back to factory conditions and dummy me...

Use the config-Free software to diagnose your connection. Click Start=>All programs=>Toshiba=>Networking=>Config free. It will show you what is wrong and will allow you to enable the wireless if it is not enabled. If for some reason you cannot find ConfigFree you can do the "repair" yourself.

On your Satellite there should be a switch to physically turn the wireless adapter. The wireless adapter must be turned on: its Led should be lit. There is the image of an antenna near the LED.

This done, you should use the start button ( I am describing the procedure for Windows XP Pro) and click the Connect To submenu =>Show all connections.
In the list of available connections, point to the Wireless adapter and make sure it is software activated. Point with mouse cursor, and right click the icon. Select Enable.
If Windows is managing the wireless connections, you should use it to detect the available wireless networks. To do so, right click the wireless connection and select View Wireless networks. It will show you all the available ones. Select the one you have authorized access to and click connect. You will be prompted to enter a key if necessary and you take it from there.

If you perform the foregoing step and Windows is not the one managing your connections, then you must use the Vaio connection manager (could be Intel PROSet wireless) or some other proprietary one.

Good luck.

HP built-in wireless internet light cannot be

try this...

Windows WiFi Fix,

Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.

Windows XP:

Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Toshiba satellite wifi not working

Hello
You might have physically switched on the adapter, but in Windows it is still disabled.

In Windows XP, click the start button, look for CONNECT TO (don't go in the all programs menu), and click SHOW all connections. A window opens showing all the connections available. If the wireless connection icon displays a red X crossing it, it is disabled.

To reenable it,

Point the mouse cursor to the wireless connection and right click mouse button. Click enable or repair.

One question though. If your computer is toshiba, you must have installed the configFree software that came with it.

If so, look to the left right of the task bar and click the ConfigFree Icon. Choose Connectivity doctor. It will diagnose your connections. If one is disabled or has a problem, a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark ! will appear on the connection.

Use the device setting thumbnail, select your WIFI adapter . A button at the right bottom side, will show either Enable (if your adapter is disabled), or disable i(f adapter is enabled). With that button, you can toggle between enable and disable. After that click the close button, and hopefully you will be able to surf the web.

Hope it helps
