Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: need 2 calibrate my hp 1210 printer

Hi *s*

(bottom left corner windows START)
got to;
start/settings/printers/ and click

right click your printer and select printing preferences
click on the tab that says SERVICES
then click on the services icon button (picture)

you will see three choices;
align,
clean
print a test page.

Aligning is what you want.(calibration is just a different word)

You can also remove the ink cartridges as you usually do and then put them back in, this triggers and automatic printed page and then walks you through scanning and the alignment.*s*

if by chance you still have blurry printing and know your machine should be ok, try cleaning.( same procedure, different last choice- you clean the heads)

You can also check to see if the proper paper is selected. For instance, if you are trying to print heavy greeting card paper it must be set to that or it will not print properly. *s*

If you have thrown up your hands and tried all this, and nothing works. Go through your printer preferences and select SET DEFAULT SETTINGS buttons.
It will knock everything back to the way it left the factory *S*

Thank you and good luck. Please remember to give my answer a rating *S*

SOURCE: multifuction hp laserjet 3050 conflict with hp laserjet M1522N

After installing the printer software you need to program scanning software.
Below are the steps to program scanning software:

To program the Scan To button:

Select Start/Programs or All Programs (Windows XP)/HP/HP Laserjet 3050, 3052, 3055, 3390, 3392/Scan
Click the Setup to open the Scan To Setup Wizard.
Select the Change the destinations that show up on the all-in-one control panel when I press the <Scan To> button and then click Next .
Check the Allow me to scan by pressing the Scan To button on the all-in-one check box.
Choose the destination by moving them from the PC window (the left window) to the All-in-one window (the right window).
NOTE: The All-in-one window might contain items set up by other computers that are connected to the all-in-one. You cannot make changes to these items.
Click Update .
To Create a destinations:
Follow steps 1-2 from the above steps.
Select Create a new destination with settings that I will specify and then select Next .
Select the Save it to my computer and then press Next .
Select the scan preferences and then select Next .
Select the scan destination folder and file format type and then select Next .
NOTE: If you wish to use a custom folder for your scan destination, you will need to create the folder prior to this setup wizard in order to browse to it.
Select the quality level you would like the file to be saved as.
Name the new destination on the computer, check the Send this new destination to the all-in-one check box, and enter a name for the display on the all-in-one. Then select Next .
Confirmation allows you to verify your settings. Select Save .
Once the new destination has been saved, the new destination will be configured as one of the Scan To destinations on the printer.

SOURCE: need ubuntu linux ppd driver for workcentre 385

It doesn't look good. The following web-site called it a paperweight.

http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Xerox/Xerox-WorkCentre_385

If you have good windows drivers for this, then you might be able to share it off another system and print via Samba.

You'd be better off trading it, donating it, ebay-ing it, or keep it as a fax/ copy system.

Brother, on the other hand makes good multi-function printers and they have very good linux support for their printers. If you're casting around for a replacement, take a look at the MFC-4800.

Download drivers under Ubuntu for HP ENV 4500 e-All-in-One Series?

Hi Frank,

HP is one of the most supported printers for Linux. I run Mint (based on Ubuntu) & have had support for even older models for years now. Have you tried installing it w/o bothering w/drivers at all? Basically, you turn on the printer, open the printers dialog>add new>then click network printer (assuming you're using the wi-fi on the printer). In Mint, I usually wait 1-2 mins. & it comes up with the printer listed by IP automatically. Now, I'm speaking of Mint- not 100% sure on Ubuntu but it ought to be very similar...

If that somehow doesn't work, then go here & follow the excellent walkthrough:

http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html

Please report back if it solves it for you.

Cheers from Australia!

At a startup performing calibration initialization long HP Color Laserjet 4600dn

Calibration bypass
During certain diagnostic procedures, you will need to bypass the automatic calibration that is
performed whenever the printer is turned on.
To bypass calibration
1 Turn the printer on and watch the control panel display.
2 When the display begins showing the memory count, press and hold until all three lights on
the control panel are lit.
3 Press .
4 Press PAUSE/RESUME. The display should show SKIP DISK LOAD.
5 Press until SKIP CALIBRATION is highlighted.
6 Press . The printer will skip calibration and then continue its power-on sequence.

Please refer here for further details if required

Let me know if any further clarification is required. Hope this helps!

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't this printer come with mac drivers? But I am not supprised to head that HP is alienating you. They do the same for Linux users. Although there is a growing base of support coming from HP. Maybe you should switch to Linux.
