SOURCE: Furnace won't start up .. I've changed the filter

What error code is flashing on the control board? If you open the panel that triggers the door switch, you will erase the code. Look for a small viewing port in the lower panel. Once you get the code, look on the wiring diagram glued to the inside of a panel for a diagnostic chart. It will give you a starting point.

On a call for heat, the 24 volt thermostat sends a signal to the control module. The control module will indicate a call for heat with a light on the control either blinking or remain solid depending upon model. The inducer (exhaust) blower will purge all gasses from the furnace and pressurize a pressure switch. Once the pressure switch tells the module to continue, the electronic ignition will energize and send 120 volts to the igniter. The igniter will glow and you will be able to see it if viewed thru the small inspection port. Once the igniter gets hot enough, it sends a signal to the module opening up the gas valve (24 volts). Either a pilot will come on or the burner tube will ignite then spread the flame to all burners. Lastly a safety sensor will be looking for a certain temperature within a few seconds and the furnace will continue to operate and the room air blower will turn on in a minute or two.

What could go wrong? The unit will not run if there is no signal from the thermostat (bad thermostat or broken wire), the control module does not sense a signal from the thermostat (bad control), the inducer does not energize (bad motor), the pressure switch does not close (blocked vent piping, bad switch, plugged condensate hose), the igniter does not energize (bad control, bad igniter), the gas valve does not open or there is no gas (bad gas valve, broken wire, no gas), the pilot does not light (dirty pilot), the burner does not light (bad burner, plugged orifice, not enough combustion air), the flame does not spread to each burner (bad flame spreader, dirty flame spreader, more bad burners), the flame safety sensor does not detect flame (dirty or bad flame spreader, bad flame sensor, broken wire, bad control), or the room air blower does not energize (bad fan motor, bad control).

Check for fuel pressure. Commonly fuel pumps are changed when the inertial switch may have tripped. Google ford inertia switch. It is a resettable safety device for the fuel system.

My 98 gmc safari starts but won't stay started unless u keep putting gas into the throtal thing behind the airvent I already changed the fuel filter still doing the same thing help

It might be your fuel pump not getting fuel to throttle body. Disconnect fuel line to throttle housing get someone to turn car over and see if fuel is getting pumped up. If not the pump could be faulty or fuel filter blocked. Also check to see if you car has a fuel cut of reset button it could just need a reset.

You've already eliminated the spark plug & wireset, distributor cap & rotor.
Sounds like your car needs a tune-up, specifically, the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve, and/of the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve.

Components checked/replaced during a tune-up are:
air filter
motor oil
motor oil filter
breather filter
fuel filter(s)
fuel strainer
PCV valve
EGR valve
spark plugs
spark plug wires
ECM or distributor cap & rotor
cabin air filter
transmission oil filter
transmission oil
engine coolant
check all vacuum hoses and lines

Troubleshooting the no-start condition - from the 1990 Mitsu Mighty Max Repair Manual:

Does the fuel filter need to be replaced on a 2004 Ford Taurus?

It will need replaced eventually and according to the book should be changed at the 20k, 40k, etc mark, BUT most people wait until they have trouble before changing it.
Here is an excerpt from the taurasclub.com instructions for locating and changing the filter:
You want to drive up on the ramps backwards or park your car vertical to a ditch so that your right rear tire is just before the ditch and your right rear window (the small ovalish one) is just above the ditch. Either one of those ways will give you EASY access.

The fuel filter is located under the passenger side rear door. Before you change it, start your car and let it run. As it is running, hit the emergency fuel shut off switch in the trunk. Let it putter out. Now, change your filter. Get a pan or bucket under there with you. There are 2 plastic clips that hold it on. You should have received new ones with your filter. If you did not, DO NOT proceede until you have a new set. Do not reuse old plastic stuff - lesson learned. If you have them, pull off the old ones and disconnect one line at a time. Keep your pan or bucket undere the filter during this time as fuel will spill out. WARNING - DO NOT LAY UNDER AND LOOK UP AT THE FILTER AS YOU REMOVE THE TUBES OR THE FILTER!!!! Remove your last line and drop your used filter into the bucket/pan. Install your new filter - NOTE PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE FLOW ARROWS ON THE NEW FILTER - replace each line and install the new clips. Reset the fuel filter switch and start the car. It might take a couple of seconds to start back up or a couple of cranks. After that, you are set!

Has good spark, replaced fuel pump. Will fire with starting fluid or small amount of gasoline put to the throttle body but wont stay running.

okay if you have spark sounds like fuel delivery... if pump is new then check the fuel filter..... if filter is good check to see if there is a secondary fuel pump bolted to the driver side frame rail.... if everything checks out fine find the inertia switch and reset it it is possible it can trip.... it is a fuel shut off switch designed to trip and shut off fuel in case of an accident but malfunctions do sometimes occure with them... hope this helps

Hi, back again. Changed the fuel filter and a new

No fuel pump reset switch on a Jimmy. If your pressure goes up to normal, then drops back down after 2 seconds, you need a new fuel pump as the return is not working correctly to keep fuel in the lines.

07 camry oil filter location v6

The oil filter is no longer a "spin-on" type filter. Toyota has changed to the "cartridge" type filters that are in a cylindrical housing on the engine. You need to remove the filter housing to access the cartridge. Make sure that you replace the o-rings that come out with the cartridge filter with the new ones supplied in the new filter box. To reset the light, follow these directions:

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "TRIP A". If it is on "ODO" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "TRIP A".

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it IN.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine

Observe the Odometer display. You will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, whatever number that was displayed on "TRIP A" will be re-displayed..

Now release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.
