I have a Toshiba 14AF44 TV and I no longer have the remote control thats came with it. I have a universal remote that only functions to turn the TV on and off/changes channels/volume control. I have no idea how to get the TV into tv/video mode so I can watch DVDs and videos. Is there a way to do it manually???

You can follow the option of searching the internet for any of several suppliers of OEM replacement remotes. The problem with universal remotes is that not all functions of the OEM remote are replicated.
Ur tv have manual button that said VIDEO on the tv frame bazel.Push that VIDEO button u will get into Video 1 or 2 modes.Tries the tv manual buttons Channels up or down buttons like a few times, some Analogue tv models will let u to get into Video modes that ways. Not try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote to used. This video modes funsctions are optional for tv useages for most or all of the tvs universal remotes.Tvs universal remotes are basicly only work for like for a power buttons on/off,channels up/down and volume up/down that it not more.
I believe on the Toshiba 14AF44 that you can change inputs by using the channel button on the front of the TV, as well. Either channel down to the lowest channel and then channel down again to start going through the available inputs, or channel up to the highest channel and then channel up again to start going through the available inputs.
Hope this helps!
