SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: My Acer Aspire 5100 will

Hi sboon4...did I lose you on chat? I have a couple more things to try....

hello?
inthecellar says:
I'm not sure if you're still connected but I have a couple more things to try here...so I'll type it out.

inthecellar says:
If you can get back to a command prompt again, you can try the following:

inthecellar says:
C:\windows\winsxs\pending.xml C:\windows\winsxs\pending.old.xml
C:\windows\winsxs\cleanup.xml -> C:\windows\winsxs\cleanup.old.xml

inthecellar says:
You want to rename the pending.xml to old and cleanup.xml to old.

inthecellar says:
if that doesn't work then try going into the bios of the Acer to choose recovery (which may erase all data) by hitting Alt-F10 while it boots up.

inthecellar says:
my email is doingitright@blueskyit.ca if you need more assistance...I'll keep it connected.

In most cases if you are running Windows 8 you have to reinstall the system again. Try to learn to select updates manually cause not all Automatic Updates are needed for personal computer use.

My computer will not stop configuring Windows Updates it goes to 12 percent and stops

It seems you may need to perform a fresh install of windows, and be sure that you don't turn of the computer while it is configuring updates

Configuring windows updates stops at 12%

Some update take a long time. Like .NET updates.

Try a manual update where you control what gets updated, by selecting the problem update and running it independent. You also don't need all the updates if you are aware of what is installed on your system. For instance, do really need all the those language packs? I don't.

Configure 3 of 3 - 0% fails and tries rebooting

Suggest in the future you turn Auto Update OFF.
Go to the update list, and manually click on the updates you want.

Windows, ya gotta love it!

Problems of all sorts have cropped up with the Service Packs.
That's why I turn the auto update feature off, and download WHAT updates I want, manually.

MY LAPTOP WENT OFF DURING UPDATES NOW IT WONT FINISH LOADING, it comes up update 3 of 3 then restarts and says same again keeps doing it not letting me in to lap top anymore seems stuck on updates

Hold F8 while booting to go into safe mode, or last known good configuration. Then, preform the update from there, and that should fix your problem.

ACER Aspire 5100 powers down at will

When you turn the laptop on hit f8 until the menu comes up, try use the last good known configuration. If that does not work tap f8 goto safe mode and then to system restore and restore it to an earlier time. Let me know if it works.

Configuring updates dont stop

I'll assume last known good configuration didn't work, if you press f8 and choose disable automatic restart on failure, you should see the blue screen of death with more info, when you reboot the next time,(you may have to hold in power button for 5 secs), press f8 and see if Repair my computer is listed on the Microsoft Startup menu, if not, insert a windows vista disk and restart, booting to the cd(should happen automatically, but look for a prompt to press a key) choose your language, then choose repair my computer, choose the windows installation, and you can try to use system restore to go back before the uodates were installed and updated, then disable automatic updating so it doesn't repeat.

My emachine is stuck cycling at start up

no computer is trash when you are dealing with a software issue.

boot up and tap on the f8 key... when you get to that screen... choose safe mode... if it successfully boots.... go to start menu... and restart again... it should boot... if it wants to do the update let it.... if still nothing.... f8 again and choose last known good configuration

Ihave blue screen after my laptop just shut down

If you didn't get to log in try this.Reboot, tap the F8 key until you get to the advanced start up screen. Click on last known good configuration.
If you logged in it will not work so try to boot in safe mode. (again tap the F8 key on reboot)
The blue screen is a configuration error. Either hardware or software.
Hardware could be bad, (memory, hard drive).
Software could be any thing, (an update, new install).
If you just did a windows update and the blue screen happened I would boot to safe mode and uninstall the update.
Control panel, add/remove programs.
You might need to check the box in the top right to show updates.
Find the latest update and click remove.
