Question about Maytag Legacy Series Top Load Washer
The clothes will be too wet- even after spinning a second time. The towels seem to spin out the dryest- at times. There is no water in the washer tub after the spin cycle, so it seems to be draining. The Maytag repair man said it could be the timer has it in the delicate cycle & not letting into the fast spin cycle. He said the timer (& even if it's the motor, he said) would cost $300 to fix.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It's not spinning fast enough because of a loose or worn belt on the motor. Post back with your model number and I may can find a diagram of your washer to help you.

Sears has the part you need:
#24 on diagram Thrust bearing kit (series 10) Number:12500036Substitution:12002213 $31.28 In stock Quantity Add To Cart To be sure you have the correct one your serial number should start with 10. One thing to remember when installing the new kit (which comes with extra washers) If you have too many washers then the tub will not lock down for wash mode and the clothes will get all knotted up. If you have too few washers then the brake will not release and the drum will not spin. So make a note of just how many was on the old unit AND the order they came off.
