As I'm sure you know, when you drop a laptop rarely does any good come from it. That said, You may have jarred lose a connection, or component, the antenna is sometimes located behing the monitor. I don't know your skill level, or if you are comfortable with opening the laptop to search for a lose connection/component. If no, take it to a Qualified Computer Tech. It's difficult to say what the problen is without opening the case. This may help, MIND those tiny screws, DON'T FORGET TO REMOVE AC AND BATTERY , and ESD protection: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/lat2120/en/SM/parts.htm

It would be good if you could post the make and model and version of windows. Without that, turn the the laptop upside down and there are doors or hatches on the bottom, they might have screws. Remove them and look for a small card with electronics on it. The card should be almost square in shape (not long rectangles) Make sure that it is not loose. It either pushes in or slides into a slot. If it slides into a slot you may have to remove it and put it back. It slides in at and angle and then presses down towards the computer and there are little clips on the edge that hold it.

My Dell inspiron won't recognize wifi

Hi Mike,

There is a possibility that the Wi-Fi may not have been enabled so please let me know the system model so that I can let you know what needs to be done. You may also send me the system service tag so that if Wi-Fi is already enabled then I can check and provide the right Wi-Fi driver.

Thanks & Regards,
Kiran K

I Have a Sony CLIE PEG-SJ22 that I want to get internet on!!!

Hey dude. You don't even have a built-in browser in that handheld. What use can it be of even if you can get wifi to work on it? In addition, this thing has a CPU clock speed as fast as a 80486 Intel desktop CPU, even if you can browse the internet, it will take forever to finish loading a page. Oh, do you know that it only has 16MB internal memory for everything? If you want to check email, use outlook or palm desktop to receive them and sync it to your Clie. This is the closest you can get to the internet with this handheld. Goog luck and don't forget to amaze me by posting a real solution up if you can find anything, I mean anything, better than what I just said.

Wireless Network stopped detecting ALL local networks

Hi, Have you installed the driver for your wireless card since you re-formatted?

Right click on my computer and go to properties, select device manager. all of your hardware will be listed there. are there any yellow question marks? these are devices that need drivers.

Your wifi card will probably be called 'network adapter'. go to the sony vaio website and download the right driver for your wifi card

Wireless connections

Is your router setup for security? For example on your laptop, did you have to enter a SSID & WEP key in order to get connected to your wifi router. Also, see if your router is setup for MAC filtering, may be possible that its blocking your handheld device from connecting. If thats the case, then you would have to do the same steps on your handheld device has you would on a laptop.
