Question about Toshiba Satellite A665 Notebook
I'm unable to print or use any of my USB ports.
May be there some problem with internal wiring. Did you check the drivers?

New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I don't think a wire is the problem as they are soldered to mobo. It is more than likely a power problem. If you go to the hardware tab in device manager and go down to usb root hub>right click and properties then look at the power tab and you will see a 500MA allowance on usage. You can easily go above these if you are using them, so check that they are all active. Also go to control panel>admin tools>services and look down list for 'plug n play' and make sure it is set at automatic and 'universal plug and play' is set at manual

Not sure why the usb ports are not working, could be a number of reasons. You could try removing the usb controllers from device manager and then reboot the machine. Windows should then install the controllers again. Another thing you could try is to download the chipset driver from the support website: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and re-install that. Otherwise it may be due to a corrupt registry value in the O/S which will need a fresh install of windows.

SOURCE: can't read usb port com
it might be that your USB driver is troubled,in order to fix the software, you must reinstall the software using Device Manager
Right click on My Computer and select properties, then click on the Hardware tab and click Device Manager, expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers by clicking on it,and see if there are any USB device that has "?" sign on it. If there are one, right click on the device and select uninstall, uninstall it and then restart your computer, when the computer turned on,the driver will reinstall automatically
Please let me know if it's works or not
