Question about Sony Mavica MVC-CD500 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Mini CD format errors on my Camera.

I have a Sony CD500 Mavica Camera. It functions correctly with the new exception that, now it will not format the mini cd's ( regardless of brand) successfully.

I download the pictures, reformat the (removable mini-cd) disk for reuse. It goes through the format process and then flashes a "format error' on the screen. I have attempted at least 12 different discs multiple times.

I have had similar problem and i think it's a problem with the disc. Make sure the disk is clean and unscratched. Check your other discs, too, to see if they are giving you the same problem. If not, it' is most likely the disc and not the camera.

It comes that Disk not being recognized. I had the same camera before. You need to use good quality CDRs or CD-RWs. Usually Sony Mavica disks best with that camera. Maybe you cannot find Mavica in market then go for Sony, Philips, Imation miniCDR/W. also keep the lens of the internal CD writer clean. If you need further assistance please post your question

If you can find software to read UDF (universal disk format) you may be able to recover your pix. Whatever you do -- DO NOT reinitialize or finalize the disk. Your existing pix will certainly be lost if you do.
