Question about Refrigerators
Model Superba KSRA22F - about seven years old. At first water was coming out slowly, then I changed out the pipe from the water source to the fridge which increased the velocity of water. Then it started intermittently not dispensing water (you could hear the pump trying to dispense it but no water). Then it stopped all together. So, I just defrosted the fridge/freezer and sure enough, the dispenser now works. Which leads me to believe that the water is freezing somewhere in the line in the door (the water line runs up thru the freezer door to the dispenser). So, has anyone heard about KitchenAid having these problems and why would it start to happen all of a sudden? tx.
Check to see if the water reservoir in the bottom of the frig is frozen. If it is, you will need to turn the frig temp down.

Chances are is a bad water valve. The water valve is on the back of the fridge at the bottom. You will see the water line going into it.

Make sure your manual doesn't say something about inline filters, or a float that might be sticking in off position. Depending on how ice is made sometimes they have a float to where water rises so hight then gets shut off to freeze and form the ice.

Water dispenser works fine eliminates some potential probems, so disconnect the water line at the outlet of the water valve leading to the icemaker. Blow into the tube (with the freezer door open so the air has an escape route.) If you can't blow through the tube, check where the tube passes into the freezer section for an ice blockage. This would result from a water valve not shutting off 100 %, allowing a little water to dribble in and freeze the inlet shut. If you can blow through the tube, most likely the electric solenoid coil on the water valve supplying the ice maker water is bad. In either case, replace the valve. (it is a dual solenoid valve, part # 2315533)

usually when i get a kitchen side by side i trouble shoot the wtr valve first by using a cheat cord that applying volatge directly to the vlave to see if it opens but usually the wire harnes under frezeer breaks the wires so my money is on the wires under the frezerr door cut the sleve off and chec the wires one by one the one to the water is broken

That can only be a blockage from the valve or crimped water line or a defective solenoied on the dispenser side of the water control valve part number WR57X10032
