SOURCE: Maytag MSD2756DE refrigerator start relay

An interruption in the power supply would usually show in other electrical fixtures in the house. A UPS is not recommended for a power back up on a refrigerator.

The condition you describe usually indicates that either the compressor is working too hard and drawing too much current or the start relay is gone bad. The starting and stopping that you hear is a safety shut-off within the relay. A good place to start is changing start relay for the factory recommended one.

If the standard relay does not correct the problem, there is in most cases a temporary fix, it is called a hard start relay/capacitor. It is usually available from an appliance parts retailer for around $15 to $20. Installation instructions are included, just be sure to unplug your refrigerator first and make sure that someone following you can repair from where you left off. This relay assembly can normally get you up and running but it should not be used as a permanent fix. This will not correct for a refrigerant leak in the system. Outside of this may require having a professional come in to fix the issue, it can range anywhere from a faulty compressor to a refrigerant leak.

Check your refrigerator owners manual before making any repairs or modifications to your refrigerator, there may be an extended warranty on the sealed system and compressor if needed.

SOURCE: Capillary tube replacement

The True TSSU-60-16 uses an oversized (134A) refrigeration system with air flow directed at the pans.... if the capillary tube is plugged it will NOT cool at all.. most of the time a restriction (plug) is at the drier where the capillary tube goes into it.. as it is smallest passage in the system...hope it helps

We have an 84e error on Samsung refrigerator RFHMEDBSR/AA I looked it up and it tells me what I already knew. Our refrigerator is only 1.5 years old and NOTHING is working.

Your refrigerant compressor rotor (it is what make the fridge cold) is locked up most likely. Read on please. I see way too many Samsung high end units like yours fail very early. My last Whirlpool lasted 25 years and only replaced it (with another Whirlpool) to lower electrical cost.

This is actually a very bad error code on these refrigerators. It means the rotor is locked up inside the compressor and the only way to solve this issue is to actually replace the compressor. Unfortunately this means a basic rebuild of the sealed system of the refrigerator. It's a pretty big job to do this. You not only need special tools you also need a special license to recover the freon from the refrigerators sealed system.
I have however been able to solve this problem twice out of the 7 or 8 times I've seen this error by simply replacing the inverter control board on the back of the unit by the compressor. The inverter board on the back is usually flashing four times which means again locked rotor.
Fortunately for every one of these that I've seen they have been covered under first year warranty. Now I know that doesn't say a lot for Samsung but remember no matter which brand appliance you buy it will have issues eventually. Things just aren't made like they used to be. I hear it everyday my old refrigerator lasted 2o years.. You'll never buy another one that last that long..

I know nothing about your model, but in my experience with refrigerators over the last 40 years, they can make a whole range of different noises at different times. There's even a note in the manual of my GE side by side something to the effect that strange noises are to be expected. I'm amazed at the range of different sounds that comes from our 10 year old GE. It's hard to say ignore noises because I never ignore a new noise from my car, but unless the same noise repeats under similar conditions, I'd not rush into trying to 'fix; it.

Hello, the rattling sound very well may be the compressor as the internal parts are wearing out or liquid refrigerant flooding the compressor. Best thing is to have a technician attach gauges to the unit and observe the operating pressures, this will determine the cause. Also the electric bill will be higher if the compressor is drawing more amps due to it going bad.

Kenmore Refrigerator making loud sounds at shutdown

the compressor has a loose or broken spring inside the compressor, unfortunatly it can not be repaired without replacing the compressor, it could last many more years and it could quit as we speak.

best thing is to let the neighbor know of the problem and what is the repair that way they won't think you are ponning off the machine to them, it may outlast your new one, time will tell
