The category is listed as Network and Wireless Adapters, but the question is leading to an answer regarding routers. The router in a network is what allows connection and assigns IP addresses. The router uses encryption and a security passkey (password) to allow uses to connect. You would need to log into the router using the administrator ID and password, go to the Wireless page and change the access password. ALL USERS would then need to reconnect using the new password.
Hard wire into your router, enter ip address and then user name and password or factory default.
Change password security to none, save settings, cycle power on router. This will clear secutiy on router and now repeat the above steps and enable secutity and assign password.
Do you have administrative privileges to the router? If so, go in through your browser and reset a password for connection and then use that password to connect. If you have other devices to connect to it - you will have to reset them.
If you cannot get into the router - you can simply reset the router and start from scratch.
You will need to check the wireless settings of the router is there any computer connected to the router ? If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer. Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router. Click here for step by step instructions
well! friend i use to work for netgear and let me tell you if your wireless network was unsecured then somebody connected to your router wirelessly and enabled password on your router.it is quite possible that your router login password is also changed.if not then you are lucky.try this ->
goto start - run - type CMD and press enter
in the DOS window type ipconfig and enter
whatever is the default gateway is just copy it.open inter explorer and type that default gateway in the address bar and enter.it will ask you for username and password.use the username and password provided on the back the router on the sticker.get into your router`s settings goto wireless section and change the password.it would be WEP or WPA.always keep security or that guy will hack your wireless again.
if it doesn`t work then you have to reset the router by pressing the little button on the back for 10 to 15 seconds.reconfigure your router with the help of the CD that came with it you can also do it manually if you know.
You could use any brand wireless router with your broadband service for a wifi signal for your laptop or any wireless internet to any device that is compatible for it. You first need to make sure your laptop has built in wireless or if it needs an adapter(ex. Wireless notebook adapter, USB Adapter). and if its built in then all you would need to buy is a wireless router(Linksys has a really nice and user friendly setup. Model:WRT54G).
