the red mark is where the timing is supposed to be after u have bypassed the electronic advance.the first white line on the left is tdc.

Align timing pointer on transmission bellhousing with white T.D.C. mark on flexplate or flywheel, make sure up marks on each camshaft pulley at top and align marks on each pulley aligned with the edges of the cyl. head.

Belt covers need to be on. Timing mark on crankshaft (while on compression stroke) should line up with TDC mark on cover. then Camshaft mark, needs to line up by looking through access hole of cover, and align mark on cam sprocket with pointer on inside of belt cover.

You have to pull the flywheel off of the crankshaft to see the woodruff key. The key should point up towards the camshaft. there are two marks on the plastic camshaft gear that also must align with the two marks on the housing.
