Question about Apple iPod classic 7th Generation

1 Answer

My ipod classic 7th generation is frozen. the light is on but it doesn't respond to any buttons or the wheel. I tried to press the home button and the play button but it's not doing anything.

When the battery was almost empty the clock stopped but the music was still playing. After charging, it stopped playing the music and none of the buttons is not working. I tried to plug it to computer, still nothing working. The light is on all the time. I don't think it's got any wet in it but not sure.

Hi! (: i'm not sure if this will work, but when my ipod did this, I left it in a cup of rice for a few hours, then I left it charging for a while until it turned on and showed the home screen. If this doesnt work, try calling apples technicians on their website! They can help sometimes..
[Also, yahoo answers might have a better solution] Good luck!

When you reset iPod all your music and files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost. Date and time are preserved (unless the iPod reset itself because it had no power and then was reconnected to power). Other customized settings, such as Bookmarks, On-The-Go Playlists, Shuffle, Backlight timer, and so forth are preserved from the last time the hard drive turned on.

Ipod classic 7th generation won't sync

Step 1:
With iTunes software, iPod users can manage their media libraries, purchase or import new content and synchronize their devices. The software has a number of convenient features, one of which is AutoSync. This feature will cause your iPod to automatically synchronize with iTunes immediately upon connecting the device to your computer. You can also set up iTunes so that you can manually sync your iPod.

Press the "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys on your computer keyboard simultaneously while you connect your iPod to the computer using its USB cord. Mac users will press "CMD + Option" while you connect. Continue to keep the keys pressed down while you monitor the iTunes window. Keep the keys pressed until you notice that Auto-Sync has stopped and your iPod icon has appeared in the Source pane of iTunes. Be patient, as this could take between 5 and 30 seconds. Right-click on the icon for your iPod in the Source pane, and then select "iPod Options." Click to put a check mark in the "Manually manage songs and playlists" check box. This finishes your task and you can now manually synchronize your iPod whenever you wish by simply clicking on the "Sync" button.

Doesn't turn on

Perform a straightforward reset procedure on your iPod Touch if you are experiencing issues like freezing, unresponsive apps, delays or other other problems. Carry out a reset if your iPod doesn't respond when you attempt to restart the unit. This type of reset will not erase any content from your iPod Touch.

Locate the "Sleep/Wake" button on the top of the iPod Touch. Press and hold down the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button simultaneously. Continue to hold both buttons for at least 10 seconds. Release the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button when the Apple logo appears on the screen, indicating the device has been reset. Hope it helps.

"frozen/ hung" how can i reboot my ipod or

Try this method:
- Press and hold the Home button and the Power button together for about 10 -15 seconds. This should shut down your ipod. If you pressed it too long or pressed home too long, it will go into recovery mode. In which case, you ned to press the home and power button together again.

If your ipod is sync with your pc/mac, you can try plugging it in and your pc/mac should detect it and show you options like restore or something.

hope this helps.

Hi, My ipod classic 120, is not responding? It's not frozen. Seems like the wheel and buttons are not working. I've tried to reset it, but nothing happens. When I scroll the hold button on top, it lights...

Try this to see if this works: Toggle the hold switch and put it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for ten seconds and the apple symbol should come up on the screen. Then it should work like normal, and you can now ty re-syncing your ipod in itunes. Hope this helps you! If that does not help, connect it to itunes and try restoring it. That should solve your problem.
