Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
There is a button that you can press that is right next to the 'pause' button it should have a '-'sign on it. You could also try tilting the guitar differently, slower, faster, etc. If it's for the Wii, make sure that the Wii remote is plugged in properly. If it's for Xbox, PS2, etc. make sure that it is plugged in all the way. If it's a wireless plug, make sure that it's on the correct setting.
Hope it helps~
