Amana wall oven cuts off when heating. Model AOCS3040WW, Mf P1132375NWW

Our Amana wall oven, model number AOCS3040WW, manufactures number P1132375NWW, cuts off when heating. The oven will heat up, but at some point during cooking the oven will shut off. The time showing on the clock will disappear and will be replaced with blue LED blinking lines. The oven controls will be unresponsive and the oven will not heat. Once the oven cools sufficiently, the time will return and the controls can be set and the oven will heat up. During the day when not in use, the oven clock will randomly begin to blink. The time will be correct. Pressing Cancel will temporarily stop the blinking, but eventually at some point the clock will begin to blinking again.

SOURCE: GE Wall Oven - No heat (broil or bake)

On appliances like this only the heating elements use 220 volts. things like the clock, fan, etc use 110 volts. That is why some things work and other do not. Start at the breaker, sometimes a double pole breaker will have 1 side tripped, but will look perfectly fine. switch the breaker all the way to off then re-set. If nothing changes follow the power to the appliance remove the panel and look for some fuses, check to see if any are blown. Also sometimes the microwave will have a separate power source even though its built in to the same appliance. So that's not always a good symptom to follow.

while i'm here , give the fabric a flame test with a torch or lighter, just to make sure. some are more flame resistant than others. should be listed on the fabric roll label. good luck again! also, some appliance stores may sell do-it-yourself heat gasket materials.

Trying to find piece of heat resistant fabric (don't know name - something like old asbestos) to replace degenerating fabric on light fixture gasket on otherwise perfectly working caloric electric wall...

If it would help you to find the model number, I would look for a way to remove the oven door. Usually there will be a release near the hinge bracket that you push in or push to the side to allow the bracket to release and you can remove the door to see the ID plate. Otherwise, I would suggest going to a wood stove dealer and looking at the door gasket material they have in stock. They usually have rolls of heat resistant gaskets for sealing doors and glass panels in wood stoves. Last idea would be exhaust gasket material available at Napa Auto parts. Good luck!!

After cleaning the top half oven with a self-clean cycle the oven will not pre heat past 100 degrees. The bottom oven will heat. What might be causing the top to malfunction? The serial number is...

usually it is the thermal cut off( TCO) ,a kind of themal fuse which goes out if the temp exceeds certain limit and cuts off the power to the elemnts.it is to protect the cavity from over heating.it needs to replaced or reset depending the model. u will need a tech to fix this.

Ovens do not come up to set temperature

most common issue wsith these gas wall ovens is faulty ignitors, i would reccomnd replaing the ignitor(s). that being said i wouuld also reccomned a servicer with experience on this model for they can be a more tricky then ohter ranges out there, and the possiblity of "shorting out" adddiont al parts is higher on this model! and no one is currently producing a double self cleaning, full sized gas wall oven, so id hate to see you ruin this one!!!
