Write a program that accept a number and output its equivalent in word

Use the value that will be printed by the keyboar.
After you enter the value.
You have to cast the type you have used as integer or float into string or character type.
So here the type casting of the datatype will be used.

I recently bought an HP touchsmart. The keyboar

Sometimes a problem like that is not related to the keyboard, but to the operating system itself. Hit Control + Shift+Esc keys to bring up the task manager. Click the "Processes" tab and look in the CPU column for excessive CPU use... anything more than 50% .Look to the left and find the program is that is causing the problem. This should give you a start for diagnosis. Average CPU use should run about 2-20%. You can read this at the bottom of the Task Manager. Constant CPU % running higher than this denotes a problem.

Can't type on HP mini 1035 NR. Cursor and enter are fine.

Try to forcely shutdown your machine. Hold the power button 5sec to shut it down, then boot up machine normally.

This happen sometimes when some of the application you are using hang up.
