Ok what you need to do is exit out of everything, look at the bottom where the line is blue. There you would see one computer and two computers. My router disconnect frequently


Question: the connection to router disconnects OR the internet disconnects,
If router disconnect: then try being in range, choose a better spot, keep router in a good spot,
If internet disconnects, cal ISP get it checked, make sure you run ping test to make sure its consistent , here is an example,
E.g:
open run: type cmd, hit enter,
type : ping google.com -t
hit enter, it should give regular pings without timeouts....if too many timeouts, internet service has issues,
call them and report..

Things That Affect Wireless Router Signals
1. Many wireless routers are using the same wirelesschannel. Many manufacturers choose channel 6 as the default. Change to anotherchannel.2. Analogue video senders used to send audio and video toother TVs in the home.3. Microwave ovens emit interference in the 2.4GHz band.4. Wireless speakers and console controllers can causeinterference with the wireless router.5. Bluetooth devices, newer Bluetooth devices can jump todifferent frequencies if there is a connection problem.6. Power cables located near the wireless router can causedropouts and speed reduction.7. Internet connects, however when we try and view a page it doesn't work. The amber light shows when it is not working properly. We have rang our ISP and they have done various things and it doesn't...


Is this a cable service?
It is possible you have a bad connection. Either inside the house or outside.
Cable.. You will have a cable modem connected to the cable.
One main thing to do is to re-trim all the ends of the cable at every connection point between the modem and the outside connection. Replace any old connectors or splitters with new ones of correct value. The idea being to remove any oxidation which will impair the signal. If none of this helps, you may need the outside wiring looked at. Your connection service should do this at no charge.
If you have not done so, power off the modem completely, including removing the battery back up.
Wait about 20 seconds. Reinstall battery and power connection. About 20 -30 seconds to reconnect.
"few hours everyday" might indicate a problem outside, (wiring or junction box) possibly warming up in sun and cooling later?
On the PC. Use the connection wizard to "connect to a network". Connect to your own network on every pc you use.

Wi-fi disconnection


you have two routers in one network this could be the conflict why your network needs to be restart everyday, onece the routers are not used and goes Idle it will have the internet from the modem go idle as well and since you have 2 routers it will have issue on keeping the internet connection running one of your two routers is possibly having conflicts in running the internet conenction once Idle try running your network using one router and monitor if there would be any progress in the internet for your restaurant. also try setting you routers chanel to 11 since this will be a public network ^_^.

Problems with our wireless devices connecting to the netgear


Do you have a cordless phone in the area transmitting at 2.4megahertz?
If you do, that is what is breaking your connection. I found this out by accident.

The internet is disconnecting that means the problem is with the router. you also said that the router is getting hot.
I think probably you can try to upgrade the firmware of the router.
Or if it is a new router then try to get it replaced from the store.

  1. Look at the network connection icon wheter its blinking or not during refreshing the web page.
  2. If it does not blink check connection between router and pc
  3. check Netgear internet settings.
  4. Check if there is any block settings in the router.

Window Vista has lots of updates, and it's bit defender is working everyday to check your pc. This is really slowing your programs including Internet Explorer.

To test if your Windows is haveing problems or not, you might download a linux live CD such as PClinuxOS or Knoppix to test the connection.

If you can browse the internet no problem then it would be your Windows has a problem.
