I have a Dell optical mouse WM123. Mouse works fine initially. When there is screen lock and I enter Windows username/pswd, I get the message that device driver has failed. Anyone faced this problem?

A workaround might be to go to Device Manager and under USB Controllers, Properties of each USB hub, Power tab, deselect the "Allow Windows to turn off this device to save power" option.

But to solve the problem, you probably need to update the driver for the mouse, or revert to an earlier driver under mouse properties in the Control Panel.

My optical mouse is working but not my keyboard

If all of the keys on your keyboard is not responding, then there's no connection between the keyboard and the wireless receiver.

1. Change the battery of the keyboard.
2. Make sure that the keyboard is ON.
3. Try connecting the wireless receiver into other USB ports of the computer. If same problem occurs...
4. Connect the wireless receiver into another computer to make sure that the problem is the keyboard and not the USB ports of the computer.

Otherwise, you may contact the manufacturer of the keyboard to verify if there's an additional driver that you need to install or if the keyboard needs repair.

Have a great day!

Mouse not working.

Is the mouse optical, laser, or trackball?
Wired or wireless?
Bluetooth or USB?
Problems with mice are typically as follows:
1. Dirty (trackball) 2. Bad signal (depends on type) 3. Short in wire (wired only) 4. Sensor obstruction (optical and laser) 5. Bad drivers (you seem to have covered this one) 6. Being used on non-reflective service (laser, optical) -- try using a pad

How do you install dell wireless mouse and wireless keyboard?

Hi,
You should have got a install CD with the wireless keyboard and mouse, just pop the disk in the drive, run it and install the drivers, then connect the receiver to a USB port and let the system install the drivers, to connect them and make them work look for a small button under the keyboard and mouse and press them to connect.

Good luck

Optical usb mouse cursor frozen

If it is a USB wireless then your operating system will not need any additional drivers. The USB port takes care of that. Windows XP and Vista support almost 100% of any USB wireless mouse including Logitech..I own three of them, never had a problem. The only problem would be the USB port itself. Which is a totally different subject. You can still also go into control panel and make mouse adjustments if needed.

Please rate solution.
