Question about HP Computers & Internet
Dual core processor
To fix laptop getting slow problem i would suggest to perform the following steps:
- Remove temporary internet files
- Stop unwanted services
- Repair corrupt registry entries
- Update the drivers that control your PC
If problem still occurs or you are unable to perform the above given tasks manually then use a system utility tool like Reginout to fix this problem instantly.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

you got a cheap laptop. maybe from walmart or some other store that was selling it for about $400. It doesn't have a processor that you can switch out. I'm sure it's horribly slow for Visa, so my advise would be to sell it and get something with a dual core.

Firts, Iwould need the full model number off of your computer to verify what processor but doubt you can do a dual core. My suggestion is to clean up what you have now. Just a couple of easy steps to try. First, download and run ATF cleaner. It is a simple free program to clean up trash files
Second, defragment your hard drive. open my computer=> right click my computer=> properties=> click tools tab=> defragment now.
Third, download malwarebytes, save to desktop, restart computer in safe mode(hold F8 as soon as it powers up before windows starts, choose safe mode) install malwarebytes, run a full scan, don't do anything else on pc while it is scanning, it may freeze, if it finds anything, let it clean it up for ya.
After that, I strongly suggest using either registry booster (made by uniblue) or registry mechanic (made by pc tools). You will have to pay a little for these but will make a huge difference with your speed issues.
If you want to do anything else let me know, I'll help you out but doing these steps will make a huge difference.

In your notebook configuration, you have Intel® Pentium® Processor T2370
(1M Cache, 1.73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) and this processor model is on socket PPGA478.
The one you are targeting to replace to is Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5500
(2M Cache, 1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB that is on both PPGA479 and PPGA478
so if you want to replace your current processor, just be sure to see if the socket models are the same with the old processor, for other socket number wont physically fit on your old socket.
Also be sure to have enough to knowledge and skill to perform the dismantle of the notebook itself.ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD) is the term used to describe the transfer of static electricity from one object to another, and this is not good for the parts inside your note book.
Hope this helps, and thank you for using Fixya.
Another thing is to have an anti-static wrist strap to ensure no static related event can occur to your hardware.
