SOURCE: We have a emachine 17

We could go through many troubleshooting procedures but if it's only 6 days old take it back and get a new one. There's no reason you should try to fix their problem.
The only obvious thing to check is that the cables are seated, secure and functional. Also, when you press the power button, do you get any light around the power button at all? If so, what color is it?

Remove back

If while the monitor is disconnected from the PC, do you have a power led showing on the monitor ?

If not, you should check you power connections.

If you receive no power LED, chances are the power supply has a fault and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Hope this help

Does it have a digital port being used? If you are using the DVI port, it is probably digital. Try using the menu to selct the port. If it doesn't work, not sure from here. What is the model number?

No display, clipping sound appear

The clipping sound is the internal safety switch that keep shutting down the monitor.
It means there is an internal problem on the main board (overvoltage, bad component , short).
Try unplugging power cord and leaving it unplugged two or three hours, this will reset ICs by draining power completely from circuits, it is called hard reset, it rarely works.
CRT monitors waste up to 15 times more energy than TFT screen, if your CRT starts giving troubles, then it is a good time for upgrading it to a new TFT.
