dear Sure there is, but it's supposed to connect via a LAN switch. Since it
worked at your old place, did you miss a step? Was the printer plugged
into a router and the computer also plugged into the same router?
http://download.brother.com/welcome/doc002311/cv_hl2170w_eng_nug_A.pdf ,<- is the link to the manual which explains in details how to configure the printer to connect to the wireless and how to install the printer on the computer.
well first of all uninstall the driver or drivers by going to the Control Panel, programs etc, if there driver is installed

now look at the post called
Critical Update to Correct a PC to Printer Communication Issue
download the HP Full Feature Software and Drivers
install and connect the printer when prompt.
Purchase the wireless networking USB connector...Install the software onto your laptop and if your laptop has wireless connections already, it shoudl automatically pick up the printer. If not you need to also purchase a wireless card for your computer.
the wireless in the printer doesnt go directly to the laptop, it connects to the wireless on your network (your WiFi) the when you install the printer software, it will find it. if you need step by step instructions let me know.
I don't know if you had your problen fixed, but I just bought this printer this week and was having problems setting it up with the instructions. I finally decided that I would just set it up to my laptop with the USB cable attached. The software that came with the printer was already in my computer. We'll the computer started up the software, It fully installed it, step by step. Now I have a wireless connection with the printer on all 3 of the laptops in the house. Just put the USB on your computer and on the printer. Make sure the software is installed and it will walk you through the installation. Install this way on all of your laptops. I'm so happy that I finally can print wirelessly without using the goofy instruction booklet. Good luck, hope this helps some one else.
configure the setting manually by putting the printers IP address....install the driver first
verify your printers support site and download the updated/new drivers and patches need to install.

You did not say which printer that you had. Is the disk that you are installing from specifically say that it is for the version of windows that you are presently using? Your computer came with either Xp or 2000.
well..I suppose we should determine that you have your small office/business network set up first, right? it's under network connections. If it's not there, then your printer will stay invisible. Is this a replacement or new install?
