Try checking your tv in any other power outlet and see.if it results the same then the internal power suppling board has a weak components or short circuit on it.that needs to be replaced by a professional technician.

It can be the problem of power supply board in the tv.just unplug the tv from main power outlet for sometime and then reconnect it and check out.if it still gives the same problem the power supply board needs to be checked.

This sounds like a power supply problem. i have seen it several time on
your model. i would not keep trying to turn it on it might damage
something else in the tv. the reason it is shutting off is because the
power supply is putting out too much voltage. a repair cost will range
around 300-400. this is a great model and well worth a repair. here is
a web site that might help you in finding a repairman.

I have a old 52 inch sony tv turns on but picture blinks off and on whats wrong

A lot of their older sets (both regular TV sets and big rear projection set had this issue).

In either case it may mean with age the MASTER SCREEN control/s need to be adjusted slightly up---if too dim a picture it will blink.

A model number would tell me what to try.

Models beginning with KP are large projection and ones with KV are regular sets.

Count the number of blinks. Now, Google your make and model with the words blink codes added to the end. This will show you links to sites that will tell you what the blink code means and the problem with your set. The blink code is the sets way of telling the service man what is wrong. From the sound of it, you have a bad capacitor.

Tv Keeps Blinking

If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages. In some other brands/models the tubes have problems over heating and cracking. This would give you the same symptoms. If this is indeed your problem you will have to replace all 3 tubes, since leaving some to be stronger than others will still result in blinking. Can be very expensive, up to a 1000 $. Good luck
