SOURCE: replacing lid switch

someone, Im not finding that model number. Going by the first six digits Im assuming that this is a regular top loader and not an Oasis washer. If so, remove the end caps on the consol by pulling them off. Remove the screws under each end cap and flip the consol up. Unplug the lid switch connector and snap springs holding the cabinet on. The whole cabinet will pull forward and you can get at the lid switch. Check out the pics and post back...Catriver.

SOURCE: how do I get to the lid switch to replace it on my washer

Pull of the end caps #14 & 11 on the diagram. Remove the screws and the front panel will flip up. Then there are 2 clips connecting the bac to the cabimet. Snap those out and the the WHOLE front of the machine comes off if you tilt it forward. Go to sears.com and parts to bring up any model for anything and you can kind of see how things go together. Good luck.

SOURCE: can't get top off kenmore washer model # 110 22852 100

No problem. What you want to do is this, remove the screws from the back panel first to remove that metal plate protecting the wires. Once off you need to take off the two covers on the sides of the control panel. There is one on each side, just pop them off. Once off you will see there is a screw under there holding the control panel in place. Remove the screws and that will lean back. Next take a flat head screw driver and put it under the lip of the lid on the front of the washer. I mean the lip that is about an inch down from the top on the front. Pry up and the whole lid will pop up. You will see the lid switch there held in by a screw, follow the wire to where it plugs in and unplug it and replace with the new one. Let me know if you have any other questions and if this was helpful to you. Always happy to help and good luck.

Kenmore 70 series washer will not drain? It makes an electric click noise which makes me think the lid switch is ok, but i don't know. Won't drain or spin.

There is a good chance the lid switch is bad. The model number is usually under the lid hen you open the lid check at the back of the opening when the water injector is.

I have a Kenmore washer, model number 110. It won't drain or spin, just fills up. Can anyone help?

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

The scenario you describe is usually associated with a faulty or broke lid switch, but also will include not agitating I suspect.

The lid switch failure is definitely a common top load washer problem...particularily with the Whirlpool built units like yours. Here`s how you can repair it pretty easily...

( this is based on the most common Whirlpool, Estate, Kitchen-Aid, Roper, Kenmore, Inglis top-loadwasher, not necessarily applicable to ALL...but with a model number I could say if it cover's yours)

Here`s a helpful link for changing it out there are a couple of different types,

The lid switch will look like this...
double check with your model number at "searspartsdirect.com"

Let me know how you make out. If this is something you think is not within' your scope of expertise please call a pro. I think you'll be fine with the tutorial video'

I will try to help in any manner I can of course as well. Good luck. Thank you for choosing FixYa. Please take a moment to rate the info I provided and a short testimony is appreciated.

My Kenmore Elite Oasis HE model number: 110.27072603 washing machine shows LID error code. It wont work at all.... went half way through cycle... help.

Greetings,
this washer has a lid switch problem...or possible main board failure, but lid does concentrate on the lid safety switch. If you remember when you open the lid it stops..well, its a safety feature and prevents tub from spinning with lid open...this one is more difficult to service if your not use to working on washers...try unplugging machine and leaving off for awhile...does the door lock? check switch for lid fault

Kenmore top load washer- have to bang lid several

Hi,
This is most certainly caused by a faulty micro switch on the lid. Have the switch checked out and replaced if need be.

Best wishes,
