Question about Dewalt DW715 Heavy Duty 12" Single - Bevel Compound Miter Saw
I have a dewalt dw705 type 1 miter saw. With the saw in the most upright position its hanging up some when you pull it down to cut your material. Hangs up to the point that when you pull it down the gaurd linkage is bending some. Also if you lift the gaurd with your hand to try and rotate it up and out the way it will catch the blade but once you get the saw coming down as if your going to cut something, the gaurd doesnt catch the blade, only does it if your manualy moving the gaurd with your hand. gotta be some type of adjustment to fix this. Sure could use a manual for it as well but cant find one. Any help would be greatly apprecaited.
Go to www.2helpu.com that is the dewalt site. You might have to change the link arm that moves the guard up. They get bent over time. Check other parts on the raise and lower assy for wear at the same time.

The Switching should go like this
(single letters denote wire color)
The contacts where the black wires attach are the points on the switch that break when continuity is checked.

Could be worn brushes, dirty commutator or a combination of both. Unplug the tool and remove one brush at a time noting the condition and length. Use a flashlight look into brush tube and also not condition of commutator. I would blow is out with compressed air and you can try turning the brushes 180 deg and retry. That is usually the problem

the commutator might be dirty, try and turning the brushes 180 degrees and you might have to clean the commutator with a stone for that purpose to seat the brushes.
