Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You may need to go into your BIOS and change the settings so the PC boots from the CD, not from the HDD. It should then start up and allow you to reinstall or repair.

Clear the CMOS in case of an emergency.
Although the BIOS usually runs without errors, it can become corrupt in rare instances. If you're unable to enter your BIOS, or if you set a system password in the BIOS but forgot it, you might be able to fix the problem by clearing the CMOS memory. On some motherboards, this requires you to turn off and unplug your PC, disconnect the CMOS battery for a few hours, replace the battery, and turn on your PC again. Other motherboards have a CMOS clear jumper pin that you must move to a temporary position and then return it to its original position. Check your motherboard's manual to see which process you'll need to follow.
If a clear jumper pin isn't available and temporarily removing the battery doesn't work, check the motherboard manufacturer's Web site for instructions about resetting the BIOS.

i would set the bios back to default to cure any problems.....to do this the easy way i would take out the battery on the motherboard.....it looks like a watch battery and the numbers on the battery are usually 3023 or 2032.....levae it out for 10 minutes minimum and then instal it again the same way you took it out....thatll clear the bios and reset the settings. try that and tell me what happens.

what make and model is the PC?
if you have the hard drive cd from the manufacture then you should be able to install it.
you need to hit F6 during bootup, when you install the Windows Xp from a CD watch it very carefully, during the first few seconds. the bootup will ask for additional hard drive driver. that is when you hit F6 and follow the instruction. don't do anything till it ask for it.
