SOURCE: LG TV 42LB1DR INITIALIZATION PROBLEM

mine did the same thing once, I unplugged it long enough to make sure it shuts down all the way and let it reset itself. Turned it back on and it was and is fine [it's been 2 mos. now] That worked this time.
Last time one of my kids spilled something down the back and it gradually went out. 600.00 to have the part replaced.

SOURCE: "initial programming needed" problem

I can not guarantee this Punksk8er but, i did the same thing with my phone by switching the battery with my mother's and I ended up with the initial programming needed sign. This is how i fixed it...

Go to...
>Menu
Select the option...
>Settings
Scroll down to...
>Phone Settings
Then Select the option...
>NAM selections
There you will see the options
>NAM1 &NAM2

Mine was on NAM2 and i switched it to NAM1.
The system restarted and the error "initial Programing needed" went away.

I am no phone expert or anything so I don't really understand how it works but i hope this helps you out dude.

I forgot my security code on my lg imprint is there anyway for me to reset it?

Hi..

You can get the unlock code by contacting your current service provider customer care department. If your phone is locked you can use any of your friends phone to make this call.
The service provider will then provide you the unlocking codes. Everything is done for free of cost and you are not going to be charged for this process.

Another alternative is, you can take the phone to any authorize phone service center to help unlock the phone, because to unlock your phone, you will need some kind of software, USB cable etc to unlock the phone, so you can also go a nearby phone service center to unlock the phone, but calling your network service provider is the best because they have the records of your phone and can easily help to unlock it. This are the two reliable means you can unlock your phone..

Trying to factory restor my lg 9800 but dont have security code since I bought phone used how can I reset to erase all the previous owners **** ?

1 - Open the Flip
2 - Press MENU >> Then ' 0 ' [ zero ]
3 - At the Service Code prompt enter six zeros
4 - Choose option 12

Phone should REBOOT and RESET to Factory Defaults... But, if you want to go to the pre-activation stage, that's a different process...

1 - Flip Open, Press Menu
2 - Press 0 followed by 000000 [6 zeros at the Sevice Code Prompt]
3 - Choose Option 1 [ Service Program ]
4 - Click the OK soft button [brings you to the * Phone Number (MDN)* screen]
5 - At that screen enter 10 zeros - to replace your current phone number
6 - Click the OK soft-button
7 - At this screen repeat step number 5
8 - Now click END

Phone will REBOOT by itself and the screen will now display " Initial Programming Required " - This is what the Sales Rep sees when he/she opens the box and boots the phone the very first time to program it to your account
