Question about Toshiba MK2552GSX 250 GB SATA Hard Drive
Sir, I'm Rabeesh from India. I'm using Toshiba Portege a600 laptop. I have two hard disk partition. C: drive with 177.14GB and D: drive with 55.74GB. I'm using windows XP sp3. I had a Windows 7 installation in my D: drive. In my Windows XP OS, I installed EaseUS Partition Master 9.1.1 Home Edition and formatted D: drive. Then I moved some of my data (10.2GB appx) from C: drive to D: drive. Now I can't read my data. When I go through My Computer -> Local Disk (D:) -R.C.-> Properties, it shows Type: Local Disk, File System: Raw, Free Space: 0 Bytes, Used Space: 0 Bytes, Capacity: 0 Bytes. Please tell me how to recover my data files. Could anybody suggest a useful method. Hoping for your valuable advice. Yours Rabeesh Balakrishnan
I'm guessing that you've formatted hard drive partitions containing Windows 7. If so, the drive will eventually become RAW as it contains the system files and the OS.
You need to run the professional partition recovery software (http://goo.gl/5eEjN), capable to recover RAW partitions from your hard drive. Follow the link mentioned above and try the software. It comes in demo version, so you can try it for free and once assured, you can go for premium version to recover all your data.

Linux may be on another partition and Windows cannot recognize it, otherwise the MBR could be damaged and you should conect it externally and run a disk check on the drive.

Hello, verified if your hard disk is properly installed in the closure, don't forget to format your hard drive in NTFS. if your problem persist maybe need to check your USB connections in device manager.

SOURCE: i just installed windows 7
For that you need to repartitioning and reformatting the harddisk. Boot computer with windows disk then delete all partition and create again then install windows 7 on it then it will work. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

You would want to delete all partitions from the disk. That will get the raw space back. From there, partition; then, format. If you need more help, please ask, but from the experience level able; it sounds like you are right on track.
