Question about Philips 42PFL3603D/27 42 in. LCD TV

1 Answer

Phillips 42PFL3603D/27 wont turn on

As soon as I plug tv in, the bottom white led temporarily shows, goes away, then the screen flashes really quick, then a zapping sound from the screen as it flash disappears. when i took the back cover of tv off, it looks like every board's led is working for that short moment, but once that one flash occurs when the tv is freshly plugged in, that's all the picture I get. Had ordered a new a/v board & put it in, but tv is still doing the same thing. Need help.

Had the same issue, I replaced two 1200uf caps on the power supply board and now it works fine again. Remember to replace the caps with caps rated for at least 35wvdc.

SOURCE: Phillips Flat TV Model 20pf4121\105 (Flashing green led)

I had exactly the same problem When the TV was switched on all I could see was a flashing green light. After cheching the TV internals and not seeing a problem including the power supply unit which looked and checked normal. Here is what I did to get M TV working again.
Disconnect it from the power supply. Hold down all the buttons simultaneously i.e. the on/off, the volume, the programme, menu buttons, all of them simultaneously and Plug it into the power supply again.
Lo and behold My TV jumped back into life after an absence of about 4 weeks.
Try it yourself exactly as above.

Best of luck.

I cannot find the place to connect power cord into the flat screen. I searched the book on line to go with the model number Philips 42pfl3603d/27 and it wasn't specific. The place where it showed is not...

I've never had this TV but from what I can find on the internet the power connector is either at mid bottom or mid top of the backside. As for the cable it should be shaped like an 8 with one half more box shape. My TV's power connecter is on the very bottom. Wish I could help you more, but without seeing this model this is all I am able to say. Good Luck.

Phillips HDTV 42PFL3603D/F7 screen is grey (after phillips power-up logo shows) when plugged in, will not power off, remote led blinks when used, but no change.

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. Philips 42PFL3603 tv sound but no picture.

Hold a flash light to the screen after it goes off and see if you can see a faint picture. Sounds like your backlight might be cutting off. Repair can be expensive but some of the newer units don't require the entire LCD to be replaced.

Screen goes black tv stays on. Turn off and on and TV's fine.

I had this problem on my 42" Philips. Just got it yesterday and worked fine on the tv stand. As soon as I mounted the TV to the wall via wall mount system, I had the exact same issue you did. Figured it out today.

The wall mount was putting pressure against the center of the back of the tv (tv set had a slightly rounded back plate, and the mount was a flat plate). As soon as I put spacers (part of the wall mount hardware set) between the wall mount braket and the tv so there was no contact except at the mounting holes, the tv worked fine.

My theory is the pressure pushed the tv back plate against some board components which caused them to overheat (no air flow); or put pressure on internal connectors. I dont know.

Hope this helps, may not apply to your situation.
