Question about Craftsman Gas Mini - Tiller/Edger
I have a craftsman edger model#536772210,
i believe it to be a 3.8 briggs and stratton engine,
i am unable to locate a part number and replacement assembly
described in summary, part is located atop carburetor
lift your seat and look at the label that you got your model number from. to the right of the model number is the serial number. the first six digits of the serial number is the date your tractor was made - for example: serial no. 060802D002756 would make the unit made June 8, 2002

SOURCE: Craftsman 42 inch deck mower.
That model number des not show up as a good number on the http://www.searspartsdirect.com site. Are you sure you have the belts on correctly? If it has 2 belts on the deck & 1 is not installed correctly they work against each other. Safely make sure that each blade will turn by hand. did you take the blades off? If they are too long by just a fraction, they will hit ach other, but that usually makes quiet a noise. Get your book out & systematically go over everything you touched or changed. It sounds like something really simple you have overlooked. you can go to http://www.searspartsdirect.com & enter a good model number & view all of the parts diagrams. Sometimes they are a big help, & at other times they just confuse you more:). Let me know what you find!!

Unless you broke it or lost something, rebuilding it is more better on the pocket book. Rebuilding mainly consist of long carb cleaner soak, clean air
flow tubes with piano wire and air pressure. This most times can be done without any new parts. Fix IT!
