SOURCE: Garmin GPS GSMAP 182C Chartplotter will not boot up

If the unit doesn't go further from the reading card. this may indicate that theres a problem in the memory card.

Not being able to a get a signal lock on satellites would indicate a problem either in the software something is wrong or not geting loaded correctly (the memory card) Or a hardware problem.

You may have to take it in for service if you are unable to check the memory card or replace it.

SOURCE: ANTENNA UNIDEN MYSTIC

Good News!!  I just received the email from Jessica at Uniden but when I called to place the order, I learned they are back-ordered( 550 Units) and are not scheduled to arrive until Nov 28, 2008.
So hopefully we will get them.  There is a $10 shipping charge in addition to the antenna.

Larry,
Thank you for your inquire. I apologies for the information you may haven been given. But You are able to order the antenna for this model. They part your needing is part number BATY0461001 Cost is 27.16. This part is on back order. If the jack that the antenna screws on to is also damaged you most likely can buy this part but there are no instructions on how to install it.
To send the unit in due to the jack being the damaged part. You would be asked to box the unit up attaching a note explaining the problems your having along with a check or money order for the flat rate repair fee of 59.95. This amount includes all parts labor and return shipping. The unit will then carry a 90 day warranty.

Check the wiring again. Installing my M422 needed to switch the polarity of the NEMA input from my GPS75. May be similar problem

Garmine Marine Network Wiring

There is nothing unique to Garmins wiring so an ethernet cable should work. I think it's a crossover but I did it a year ago so I could be mistaken. It's possible that the cable isn't fully connecting because they have added that big knurled screw on part to make it water proof. I had a problem with a Raymarine recently and it turned out to be a defective cable. If you purchase Garmin's connector it comes with instructions on how to assemble. You need a special crimping tool. I bought mine from Radio Shack for @ $40. You could probably save money by buying 2 connectors and cutting the ends off your ethernet cables.
