SOURCE: Dyna-Glo natural gas space heater to propane gas.

Yes it is possible and a good idea. You need to have a regulator installed to reduce the pressure to the heater and this is a simple procedure. Contact your local Propane distributor and they will probably do this free to get your business.

SOURCE: can i convert my dyna glo 75000 btu propane

I'm sure you can, contact the manufacturer and ask if they have a natural gas jet or orfice for your model heater, these are usually very easy to replace.

SOURCE: Rinnai 560PTR Heater Converted Propane To Natural Gas No Ingition

I think you will find the thermocouple or thermostat has gone this allows the gas valve to open and is a saftey device to stop the escape of dangerous fumes .. it looks like a long piece of thin copper wire approx 4mm thick and it extends from the main valve into the pilot light flame .. When the ignition is pushed and you hold your finger on it for a while this tells the the valve that the pilot light is lit .. conduction of heat along this pipe then opperates the diaphram in the valve allowing the gas to the burners the pilot light then ignites them .. if the pilot light goes out the unit will nort run ..
My advice to you is that even though you may be conversant with the heater .. they do tend to have all manner of faults occur when left in storage or if shipped ( jostling and bumping ) is to get a trained gas engineer to check it out it may cost a bit .. but a gas escape and the following reprocussions are far more exspensive and costly .. Also You may not be aware that if you do have an incident your house ,insurance may be null and void if no service documents can be raised for the correct servicing of a fixed or mobile gas Convector .. I hope this helps Regards Vortash

How to change from natural gas to propane model ch-15-1

You need to find the authorized dealer to get the propane conversion kit. Provide the brand and model range / stove - it may be helpful to bring the serial number too if you do not call them first.

How do I know if my Caloric Heritage gas range is propane or natural gas? It is a used stove that was given to us

Stoves are usually sent from the factory set for natural gas. they have to be converted to Propane. If it is set for propane the flame will be very low on natural gas. If set for natural gas on propane the flame will be very large. The orifices for natural gas are much larger than propane orifices. and the regulator is converted acordingly.

Hi there.

Burner orifice size for propane gas is number 55. You have to replace all burner orifice with this size if you want to use the fryer with propane gas. Pilot burner orifice should be replaced with propane pilot orifice. The gas valve spring should also be replaced with propane spring kit. The difference between the two spring is the natural gas spring is lighter or thinner compare with the propane gas valve spring.

Is there any difference in bottle gas heater and natural gas heater

by bottle i am assuming you mean propane. yes there is a difference , natural gas is mostly methane gas (ch4) a very small molecule, propane is (c3h8) a much larger molecule. so they require different gas nozzles and cannot run a unit on the other fuel, some can be converted to run other gas. generally natural gas units are cheaper to run, but cost more for installation as a gas line has to be run to the unit and benefit of not running out of fuel. hope this helps.

I have an empire wall heater that was converted to natural gas how do i convert it back to propane?

you will need a propane conversion kit designed for that particular model heater.
which would most likely consist of a heavier spring for the gas valve and orifices for the burners depending on how many burners you have.
Most all gas heaters come thru the factory set up for natural gas and most have a kit available for conversion to LP (Propane) You will also need a manometer or a gas pressure tester to check the incoming and outgoing pressures from the green (2ndary )regulator outside your house to the gas valve inlet side, usually 11 to 14" WC( water column) pressure( static) 14" being MAX!!
Outlet pressure with burners running 10-11" WC approx. This info should come with the conversion kit if available. If you are not comfortable working with gas then find someone who is, for safety reasons.

My propane furnace sounds like a blowtorch when it kicks on but it also happens to my cooking stove

Hi, working with natural gas and converting them over to propane for the country folk, I do indeed know the sound. You might want to take a look at the burner section for any signs of carbon, soot, build up any where. If the gas pressure has changed for some reason, you will get this blow torch sound. You would need the correct meter to check or measure the inches of W.C. Inlet pressure not to exceed 1/2p.s.I. Outlet for propane has changed over the last 10 years, you will now find on the MGV (main gas valve) for propane is almost the same as with natural gas.W.C. is a measurement used in reading gas pressures, stands for inches of water-column. Recommended pressures are well marked in manuals and on valve its self. Right at 2.5 to 4" w.c. So, check for carbon build up and clean if needed. If it burns radical, pressures should be checked with a gas pressure test kit.Yellow Jacket makes a good one. I hope this has been of some help to you, Sincerely,
