If you're using a desktop, there is actually a "Num Lock" key located at the top left corner of the very numbers you are trying to use. If you're using a laptop, the "Num Lock" key is on the top of the keyboard. It's usually on one of the "F" keys or another like "Scroll Lk" To activate it you need to press Shift first or ctrl, then "Num Lock" Hope this helps : )

The only solution is to have the keyboard replaced, there is a ribbon cable from the keyboard to the motherboard and sometimes the ribbon or the keyboard develop issues. I suggest a computer tech to deal with the repair.
