Question about ASUS Eee PC 900 16G Notebook
My asus eeepc may have a virus. when i turn the power on it does not go to the desktop. how would l fix this. it did not come with a cd to reboot, and there is no cd drive. i have tried there website for support but i keep getting a busy server
Are you on Linux or Windows XP? Given that Linux is nowhere near as bad as XP for viruses, I'll assume XP.
If on Windows, keep pressing F8 on Post (machine Switch on).
From the menu of options, select 'Safe Mode' - this is a mode that deactivates all start up programs and drivers.
From within here run a virus AND spyware scan.
You can get free Anti-virus from www.MajorGeeks.com
Use AVG Free Adition or Aviva (aka Antivir)
For Spyware, use Spybot
You will probably need to download on another computer.
