SOURCE: how to take apart the gear box on a milwaukee deep

unplug tool, remove the handle assembly making note of the wiring, turn the tool over and remove the rear pulley under that you will find 2 torx drive screws remove them and then gently tap the housing to start to remove the gear assembly. remove the 4 bolts holding the gearcase to the motor housing and pull apart, when apart you can finish tapping and the lower gear along with the top one will "jump out" Let me know if you still have any problems

The blade won't stay on even though I have it on properly it comes right off when I turn it on

I have no experience of portable bandsaws but do have some experience of workshop bandsaws.

One wheel is generally movable in order to "steer" the blade and careful adjustment is needed with the blade guides retracted until the blade runs full on the wheels. The blade guides are then brought back to prevent the pressure against the work from pushing the blade off the wheels.

Jammed my 6230 bandsaw during a cut and now it won't start. Are their fuses I can replace?

Go to Milwaukee Tool website and try to check if you can download a manual or electrical diagram there. You can call or email them. Check the motor capacitor.
Are you using an old or new band saw blade? If it's old/dull, try different blade. If it's new, the weld might be really bad. Old Blade and Bad weld can cause the blade to jump off. I purchased band saw blades on www.sawblade.com . Great quality blades; they have porta band blades. Call them.

Cutting an opening in a steel door for a doggie door. Bought a Sawsall just for this. Any tips?

be sure to use eye protection and gloves to protect you from sharp edges.
first mark your lines on the door using a square, then drill holes large enough for the sawzall blade to fit through in all 4 corners. next use the sawzall to cut your straight lines which were alraedy marked and you now the opening you need. if necessary use a file or dremel tool to clean up and debur edges. hope this was helpful, if so please rate.

Just purchased a 6230 porta band saw and the blade keeps jumping off. Put the blade back on and as soon as you touch the material the blade jumps off.

could be a couple problems, first the blade could be bad, the tires that are on the wheels, a loose axle bolt or the frount housing might be bent. First try another blade and watch for which pulley it rolls off of. Next try to wobble the pulleys and if you can the axle bolt has loosened, I use an impact driver to lock them in place along with loctite. Next if the above are OK check the front housing for being bent (that is a common thing) from the housing hitting after cutting a piece of steel. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Need manual for Milw. Portaband 6232-6 that's what's on the case

Go to Milwaukeetool.com and under the service portion select the download manual area and then type in the model number 6232. I haven't heard of the -6 but they have numerous schematics for this tool according to the serial number. If you are looking for a part in particular let me know. I worked for them for 16 years and will try and help. Good luck and if I have helped you would you please rate this solution accordingly and thank you.
