Check paper jam, carriage struck, cartridges faulty and service related issues.checking carriage:Switch on the machine check carriage(the unit carrying print heads)moving left & right.. if its not moving, it might be struck in service station(service station located at right end and its allow carriage to rest on it during shut down as well as its cleans the print head nozzles). power the machine pull carriage out gently, don't force it..Clean encoder strip: Encoder is located back side of the carriage and its guides carriage to move properly, if encoder became dirty you will get error message, clean encoder with smooth cotton cloth.

I have a "unable to

Any of the 30 series errors say that the carriage is not free to move from side to side across the paper. You need to look close on each side of the machine where the carriage travels to see if there's a paper scrap stopping it. Also the encoder strip could be out of the slot in the carriage assembly. If all is OK you need a shop repair to determine if the logic or carriage pcb's are OK.

Paper jam cleared but wont start

  1. Unplug the power cable.
  2. Check to see if the print cartridge carriage can move freely from one side of the printer to the other. If the carriage is to the right and out of plain view, skip to Step five . Do not try to force it to move if it is hung up on something. NOTE: Be careful not to force the print cartridge carriage. If the carriage is stuck, forcing it to move will damage the printer.
    • If the carriage moves freely, skip to Step five .
    • If the carriage does not move, continue with the next step below.
  3. Remove the print cartridges.
  4. Gently move the print cartridge to the far right of the printer.
  5. Remove the paper from the paper In tray, but do not remove the drawer.
  6. Remove the rear access door.
  7. With your fingers, rotate the rollers "up" three full rotations.
  8. Push the rear access door back into the printer until it snaps firmly into place.
  9. Replace the print cartridges.
  10. Plug the power cable into the HP All-in-One.
  11. Turn the power on.
Step five: Reload and test the printer Once the jammed paper is removed, verify that the printer is still functioning properly.
  1. Reload the printer with plain paper.
  2. Perform a self-test by pressing and holding the Resume button until the printer starts printing. A test page should print.
Step six: Service the printer Perform all the steps mentioned above. If problem persists, service the printer.

Printer message "unable to print 36"

That error usually means a paper scrap or something is stopping the carriage from moving across the paper correctly, or there are scraps caught on either side of the carriage assembly.

The printer simply says, "Unable to print. See troubleshooting and Routine Maintenance guide chapter in User's manuel." Thanks.

Hi Bang, give this a shot,

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop. Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done
