Hi, I have a new Lenovo Y530-4051 Laptop. The problem is that Bluetooth is not working. It does not even show up in the device manager. I have ran the DPInst in the BRCM Folder but nothing happens. Even when I press FN-F5 the only thing that shows up is Wireless card. My Wirelss network is functioning just fine. Can you assist please

Thanks for the feed back however the specifications metioned in the link do not match the actual specifications of my laptop despite the fact that I have double checked the model number of the laptop. It is Y530-4051. the following items don't match. RAM memory, CPU and Hard drive.. I have purchased my laptop from the states at the end of Oct-2008 but now Im over seas otherwise I would have went back to the store I have purchased it from.

One last thing to mention is that I have checked other sites in which people mentioned they had issues with the bluetooth on the same model but they have XP. then they were advised to run the driver in the bluetooth directory which has worked.

Please advise if anyother options are available to resolve this issue.

    Many thanks in advance.

Are you sure this model actually has bluetooth?
The manufacturers tend to sure the same case for similar models, for example Y530-4051 and Y530-4052 may be identical except that slightly different features.

I have a Acer that does NOT have bluetooth but there is a on/off switch for it on the case.

The Lenovo specifications for this model mention nothing about Bluetooth.
https://www.directlenovo.com/public/public/products/details/dsp_product_note.cfm?product=40512SU&ecim=N&config=N&os_depend_stat=%20&avail_status=%20&establish_cookie=true

If you need Bluetooth, consider something like this:
http://www.usbgear.com/USB-Bluetooth.html

It is a lot less expensive than finding, buying and then paying for a tech to open up the system and install the card - not to mention that anybody opening the case other than an authorized service center (can we say expensive) would void the warranty.

Hi i Have a Lenovo 3000 N200 769 laptop. I reinstalled Vista. I cannot acces the internet (ethernet and wireless wont work) I tried installing the drivers but it won't work I do not even see the...

Go into Device Manager and Disable/remove the ethernet. Then reboot and let it detect it as a new device then put the driver in for it. Then do the same for the wireless. It should have picked it up when you reinstalled Vista but sounds like something glitched. If you have something else to get online with you might want to go to Lenovo's site under Support and download the drivers you'll be needing and have them ready to install.

Welcome to Fixya
There are lenovo G550's that doesn't have bluetooth capability. Check your computer is you have bluetooth module installed. Go to control panel then Click system icon. Go to device manager and check under the list of devices if you have bluetooth installed.

Hi raj,
I see that you are having a Bluetooth issue finding he option sending and receiving Bluetooth transfer options.
On your system whichever windows you may have you can see Bluetooth,
  • Click on Start then click on All Programs, look for accessories
  • Click on accessories it should show you the Bluetooth icon under Accessories if you click on it it will give you the option to send and receive using Bluetooth.
I see that you installed the driver for your Bluetooth to see if it installed properly check device manager, you should see Bluetooth under Network Adapters, if it's not there then the installation was not successful or maybe it just did not install correctly, try reinstalling again.
  • You can also try download an application that can utilize your Bluetooth device for example Blue Soliel that is a good Bluetooth Application that I personally use, you may just need to purchase the program online to be able to use the full functionality of the application.
I hope that his will be helpful regarding your concern, have a nice day.

Inbuild bluetooth device not working even driver has installed IN3BTH46WW1

Hi

Have you checked that the switch is not push to the off position ( usualy on the front or side )
Also that it is not disabled in device manager

You could also try uninstalling it in device manager then restarting laptop and windows should either reinstall it correctly or give you an error warning telling you that it cannot start or install

If so try to update the driver normally if that dont work down load driver again

A problem regarding bluetooth

You need to install the bluetooth software, if you have a disk, install from there. Otherwise look on the manufacturers website for the drivers and other software you may want. the bluetooth device itself is just the hardware, you need both the software and the hardware, good luck,
PS, also mention what operating system you have, because XP doesn't support it even though it will work on XP, that's a MSFT thing, they would rather say they don't support something than have it work properlly with their software

Then go to the original manufacturers website and download drivers. This will activate your Bluetooth.
