The solution is posted on the Iriver site. Go to the ultra-portable section and find your player model. Download the Iriver manager software. BEFORE you install the download, right click the file, go to Properties, and choose the compatibility option for XP SP2. Then install the program and connect the player. It will work with the Iriver manager. I just did it. The computer does not see the device as mass storage, however the Iriver manager will let you add and organize your files on the player.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

WITH SERVICE PACK 3 (WIN XP) MY 795 IS "DISCONNECTED" NO MATTER WHAT! PLEASE HELP!!

The iFP-795 is a player that has connection type UMS
(also called MSC): seeing the player as a removable disk:
Go to next site to see the connection type:
http://www.iriver.com/flash/index.asp?code=0300
and click on connection. Scroll down to see the iFP-700 series listed in the connection type UMS.
UMS = Universal Mass Storage
MSC = Mass Storage Class

With XP sp3 the computer Operating System has setup USB connections with new drivers, that support both UMS (= MSC) and MTP connections.
MTP = Media Transfer Protocol

When you experience next making connection:
Connecting the device to the computer Wizard found new hardware pops up.
Only this time the Windows update searching for software will not work on automatic routine: ending up with "Cannot Install this Hardware".

Manual performing the wizard, setting the device to USB connection type:
1. Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software ?
Select "No, not this time".
[Next]
2. If your hardware came with an installation CD, or floppy disk, insert it now.
Select "Install from a list or specific location(Advanced)."
[Next]
3. Please use your search and installations options.
Select "Don't search I will choose the driver to install."
[Next]
4. Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware.
Select "USB Mass Storage Device."
[Finish]

Just post a comment if you need more help.

IFP-795

a) Have you tried finding updated Driver for your Windows2000?

b) Have you performed Firmware Update?

See Jan Karlsbjerg's blog at http://www.jankarlsbjerg.com/blog/archives/2007/03/26/ums-firmware-for-iriver-ifp-89x/

BUT NOTE, that Jan was talking about 895 model. Follow similar steps, but use firmware for YOUR 795 model (find it via web search).
