Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

It may be just a matter of a driver ...for example you have a 1.0 port and it need a 2.0 usb port ..so you will have to install the 2.0 usb driver ..if it is not installed...or maybe the laptop is not equipped with one ...but I doubt it ...Anyway ..first go to bios (press F2 on start ) and in there restore to optimal factory defaults ..and save changes with F10 ...
In this point you know for sure that your USB ports are enabled...Than run the driver for the mouse from the disk that came with it ...Usually it will be an Usb 2.0 driver too ..but if you have at least the windows XP on it ..this is already installed from the operation system ....
if all that are made..the only thing that remain to check and concentrate on is the pairing of the receiver and the mouse itself...just press that button ..and let them pair again ...

Hello there, I am the computer technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.
Welcome to Fixya, Madgoody.
This is a software fault, specifically with drivers for the USB 2.0 controller of your notebook.
You will need to do the following:
1.) Right click My Computer and select properties.
2.) Click the Hardware Tab and clcik Device Manager.
3.) Find the heading: Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
4.) Click the + next to the USB heading.
5.) Right click on USB Root Hub and click properties.
6.) Now click the driver tab and click Update driver.
Select the option for this time only and click next.
A driver should be found automatically.
You could also go to your notebook manufacturers website, Compaq and search for drivers using your model number 6730b. Then download the USB drivers.
