Question about Dell Computers & Internet
The right half of the image moves a little bit to the left (something about 5mm) for just an instant. Problem occurs randomly : sometimes 2 or 3 in 1 minute ; sometimes 1 in 30 minutes tested 2 different graphic cards, 2 different dvi cable, and different refresh rates. I know u2711 display uses 2 chip to process the high definition. One for the half left and 1 for the right so it explains why a lot of problem concerns only one half of the display. Thanks in advance for an idea ...

The card may be overheating and switching to lower DPI to save on the power consumption and heat. Try using a diagnostic utility to check the card temperature. Also, check the heatsink/fan to make sure that it is properly seated on the card.

1. uninstall or disable windows scripting
2. uninstall cataylst and install the oldest version possible from their site or from your box
3. reinstall the oldest or original via s3 pro savage driver

Yes, the video processor (which is used only after the driver is installed) has some shorted channels in it and when they are accessed the data is corrupted and it crashes the system.
Time for a new one.
