Troubleshooting your speakers- first plug in a known working speakers. If they work, the first set is bad. If they don't work either, let's look at Device Manager to make sure you have audio listed. Right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager.Look under Sound, Audio and Game Controllers to see if you have an audio device listed. If so, is there a yellow triange with a black exclamation point or a yellow question mark? Right click and choose update drivers to see if there's anything available. Let me know your results.

I have a CT5803 Dell Sound Card with 4 intermal pinsets, I need to hook Up speaker to speaker out and need information about its use!

16 bit sound cards usually have 3 pin out or jack on the card, one is line in, one is line out and one is for the mic.

the line out is used for your computer speakers, plug in the green colored jack from your speaker into the line out jack and you hear whatever your playing on your computer, ie: music TV or internet broadcasts. You may have to set up the device or software settings that you are using before it properly gets the sound to go through your speakers. Some compatible or Creative Labs emulator cards have five pin outs, these are for a more sophisticated sound system like 5.1 or higher. These jacks have 3 outgoing jacks. One for center speaker then one for front and one for rear. a 6.1 system card may have a side speaker out jack also.

The CT5803 is a Creative card that was made by Creative Labs for Dell, it typically has 3 jacks. one for your speakers to plug into one for your mic to plug into and one for you to plug into an inbound sound source **** as an MP3 player. If this is not what you are talking about please re post your question and possibly clarify the information that you are trying to obtain.

I have no sound on my dell optiplex 560. i'm using linux but was the same with xp

If you do not have sound on 2 different operating systems then make sure everything is plugged in correctly and powered up. Make sure your speakers are on and the volume is turned up. the problem is pointing to the card or speakers if 2 operating systems cannot make sound.

Went from a Dell Dimension 8250 to a Dell Optiplex GX280

Check for updated drivers and install if available. If that does not resolve the issue completely remove the card and any software and drivers and do a clean install with the new drivers

Sound Won't Work on Dell Computer

Go to Control Panel and go to sound and audio devices. It should have the name of the speakers you are using. If it doesnt then the speakers might not work on that PC. Get a new set of speakers, and try again. It should work on the new ones. If it doesnt, get it checked at PC World or a PC repair store to get it checked, as the problem will be internal in the PC. Hope it works.

Dell OptiPlex?? GX520 GX620 Internal Speaker code? Small speaker/amp, approx. 1 1/8 " dia. by 3/4" deep. Red, Blk, Grn, & Wht wires out of speakere housing. Built in amp on housing. Robert bob@trebor.net

My experience has been for this configuration, is that the red wire is your +5 volts, the green is right, the white is left, and the black is the ground for the supply and both speaker grounds. Hope this helps...accordianman

Motherboard sound and old speakers

what really matters is the quality of the usb speakers. check specifications such as wattage first and find reviews if possible. however usb speakers will probably not come close to separate speakers. i'd recommend buying a cheap sound card ($20 or so). these work great overall. $20 spent on a sound card will be a better trade off than $20 spent on speakers. just use your old speakers with the new sound card and you'll have plenty of power. after this i'd recommend headphones as they work great in this case. finally moving the sound card would probably work fine, but i have doubts.

hopefully that helped
