SOURCE: Kenmore Refrigerator

check the mirco-switches behind the panel at the dispenser section. basically, when you depress the lever for water or ice, those levers make contact with a switch, and the switch turns on the ice dispenser motor. if the lever is pushed too hard, the switch can be knocked out of position. I had to re-position my ice switch with some duct tape.

SOURCE: remove faceplate in door of a kenmore frig.

If you look at the bottom of the facial plate, underneath. There are two slots to insert a flat screw driver. You should be able to access everything once you take that off. Good luck

Ice maker will not fill with water.

You mean " Why The Water Doesn't Fill the Tray in Kenmore Ice Maker?"
Am i right to your question? Well, Kenmore brand refrigerators often have an ice maker that uses the water supply to create ice inside the freezer compartment. Some models have an ice dispenser on the freezer door for easy access, and others simply create ice and deposit it into a tray inside the freezer. While most ice makers should work well with basic maintenance and care, issues may occasionally arise. One such problem is if the water does not fill the tray to create ice inside the ice maker. Resolving this issue may be possible through some troubleshooting efforts.

1 Remove the ice bin from the freezer.

2 Fill a turkey baster with hot water.

3 Spray hot water from the turkey baster into the tube at the back of the ice maker, which may be frozen or clogged.

4 Repeat spraying water into the tube until the blockage or frost is removed.

5 Replace the ice bin into the unit.
Please let me know if this help you.

Ice maker not working. water is loading but it never spits out the ice. The tray arm never lifts.

you need a new ice maker they typicallly only last about three years
you can check it by removing the cover (white plastic square on the forward end)
and place an insulated jumper wire from "T' to "H" it should advance (remember to hold door switch closed) if it does not advance then you need a new ice maker

Above the ice and water dispenser inside the door of my freezer, I am getting frost. Any ideas?

Check to see if the ice door is closing tightly. It may be letting moist room air in causing the frost. There is a solenoid that operates the door that could have stopped working. Can you hear it? The hinge on the door could be broken or the bracket it goes in could be broken. You'll have to look to see what's wrong.

Remove the dispenser cover by gently prying starting at the bottom going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it. When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components

Water dispenser does not work, ice maker does work. This is a used Whirlpool side by side. I hooked up the water yesterday and the water dispenser worked. Overnight, something went awry and I do not get...

Icemaker is in line with the water and runs from the icemaker threw the door and up to the water valve. So that is why the ice maker is working and the water is not working, most likely the water has frozen inside, And this can be caused by many different reasons, if it has been humid or the door was left open then shut it would cause the moisture in the air to be drawn to the warm water and flash frosted the pipe, try to see if you can defrost the line with a hair dryer. If that does not work post here and I will tell you the next step to try.

Ice maker icing up

Sounds like you may have a couple of problems here. The frost build up could be from a bad door seal. Moist air can be drawn in and collect on the inside. As for the water temp, it sounds like the water line connected to the refrigerator could be tapped off a hot water line. It needs to be connected to a potible cold water line.

Frost forming around ice dispenser inside side by side Fridge

The presence of frost indicates that the dispenser(ice) probrably isn't closing all the way once you get ice. This allows warm air to rise up, condense and form frost. In all likelihood the solenoid that controls the opening and closing is bad and needs to be replaced.
